The Scene – The atmosphere is uninspiring, and the location is suburban strip mall, but the pizza is simply scrumptious. Rome's--creating exotic pizzas using both traditional and offbeat ingredients--comes up with a winner each time. Rosemary roasted new potatoes on a pie? You'd be amazed. – – The Food – Out of 15 pizzas listed on the menu, nine are vegetarian, making Rome's an excellent choice for the animal-friendly. During the week, Rome's offers a stromboli special: One can order the meat-filled classico or the stromboli of the day, which is always vegetarian. Or…
Bad customer service, never even got delivery
by carolesanantonio
I called Rome's pizza at 5pm on a Sunday and was put on hold until disconnected. I called back and was put back on hold briefly. My bad, I should have known there to call another restaurant.
I ordered two pizzas, was told 45 minutes max for delivery. 1 hour, 10 minutes later, I called back and talked to the same customer service person to learn the status and was told "all the deliveries have left, it will be there in a minute". Unfortunately, the man would not actually check to see if my order was in the group that had been sent, though I requested several times that he verify this.
My husband tried to call back a second time at the 1 hour, 20 minute mark, but the phone was not answered at all. No pizza for him before he left for his night shift, and at the 1 hour, 45 minute mark the kids and I had eggs.
Never again!
- Pros: The pizza isn't terrible when you go to the restaurant
- Cons: If you order delivery pizza, you may go hungry
Excellent food, week after week
by Jobokar
We go there at least once a week for lunch, and it's really something we look forward to all week. Their slices are always piled with toppings, and the Greek salad is superb - cold, crisp, with lots of feta and olives. Their stromboli is also always a treat when it's available. Danny (the counter guy, the manager, or whatever his position is) is always very welcoming, if not a little manic, but that adds to the spirit of the place. The lunch specials are very good too; only 5.99 for two slices and a drink, or a slice, salad and drink. They've just redone their decor, and it now has a very nice feel.
- Pros: Great food, good price
- Cons: Can't eat there every day.
Not New York, or Chicago, but San Antonio, Baby!!!

I love this pizza! The one on Bitter's Rd has the best tasting pizza of the three, and with the "Dirty Italian" running the shop, expect no less! If I go out for pizza, it is always Rome's! The decor is uninspiring, but I'm not eating the light fixtures! The "Dirty Italian," a nickname my friends and I have given the manager, is a whoot, and takes great delight in rubbing elbows with the customers, and "hitting on" the ladies. I personally recommend the "Rome's Deluxe!" I also had them "cater" my wedding rehearsal dinner, and people could not stop talking about how good the pizza was! A grand slam!!!
- Pros: the "dirty Italian"
- Cons: uninspired decor
