Brancotts serves traditional brides and those seeking something different. Designs incorporate vegetables, fruit, feathers, grasses and pods. No fan of green foam, Brancotts uses European techniques. Their 10-foot, iron archway is festooned simply for $250 or as a $1,000 showstopper of spray roses. For a country wedding, three-foot giant aster pomanders hung from the ceiling with ribbon, the flower girl carried a small daisy kissing ball. Flat, tropical flower "posters" (screens created with flowers) make amazing backdrops. Glass luminarias are flowerless "bouquets" wrapped in copper paper with multi-ribbon tails. Silver pew marker baskets with ribbon handles double as reception accents.

Friendly co-owner and certified designer Scott Peck, delivers 20 years of flower power to the high-end bloom shop. At least three months out, armed with a feel for the bride's personality and wedding colors, growers are researched for everything from wildflowers to rare orchids. Deposits of 50 percent required.
