Caution...Shady Auto Service. A big DISAPPOINTMENT!!! So, actually..."No stars from me." I would recommend corporate re-evaluate the automotive service department. I brought my car in for a repair that apparently Pep Boys couldn't handle. A big concern was that the service tech kept giving me "different estimates throughout my visit." I needed to have my A/C serviced which required a part that they didn't have...so they tried to send me to another place to have the part made and return for the install. On this visit, I was charged about $40.00 for a service that they couldn't deliver. My mistake was thinking Pep Boys could perform this type of work. Fortunately, I was able to get my car repaired by a shop that specializes in A/C repair...for less $$$ than Pep Boys wanted to steal from me. I will not return to this store for any automotive service.

Not helpful for out-of-town repairs.. My teenage son was on his first road trip with a friend and the friend's car broke down in Kyle, Texas, last night; 250 miles from home. First thing this morning the wife was sent on a rescue mission to Kyle and the car was then towed to this Pep Boys location. I called ahead to George in the service department this morning explaining the situation, when the car was scheduled to arrive and the importance of getting them back on the road before dark. The tow truck got there 15 minutes late at 1:45 this afternoon and after the car was delivered we were told it would be 2 hours before the car would begin to be checked out. George should have told me that before the car was delivered but regardless, he was not at all sympathic and down right rude. It's now 4:45. They're still at the store - I only wish I could be there where I could push the car to the nearest garage were they would appreciate our problem - better yet I glad I'm 250 miles away from this George.
Beware. Beware, . My husband took his car in for repair and they said he needed a fuel pump. We had them replace it. When I picked my husband up at their shop my car was making a squealing noise and my husband thought it was the serpentine belt so I asked if they would tighten the belt and how much? They said they would tighten it for me and there would be no charge. So the following week, I took my car to them, they said it wasn't the belt that my air conditioner condenser was freezing up and needed to be replaced. They also said that on visual inspection that my rear brakes needed to be replaced and that I had a front tire that needed to be replaced; Unbeknownst(sp?) to them I had my air conditioner worked on not too long before. Also I always get my tires at a certain place and always buy the warrenties they have and just about 10 months earlier I had my back brakes replaced. I told them I had warrenties on each of those problems and I would take my car back to those shops that had done the work. On the supposed air condidtioner problem, I only needed the serpentine belt tightened, which the shop, that repaired my AC , did for me. Guess what, squeal completely gone. I took my car to the shop where I always buy my tires, My tires were fine. I then took my car to the brake shop that fixed my brakes and the back brakes were fine. Had I listened to them and let them do the work they insisted I needed I probably would have been out of hundreds of dollars, maybe thousands. For what ever reason most shops think if you are a women they can take advantage of you when it comes to car repairs. I rarely accept the first diagnosis of a car problem. I don't like being taken advantage of. Also many years ago my husband took another car to this particular shop and they left the door open while they were raising the car and it his something. Anyway when they tried closing the door it never closed properly. They tried to repair the door but it never did work right.
STAY AWAY from this PEP BOYS.
I DO NOT recommend this pep boys. It is overpriced, and the quality of work is questionable. I dropped off my vehicle for some routine work. They broke my door handle, and installed the wrong sized parts on my vehicle. After having my vehicle towed back to the store, they assured me they fixed the original problem. Not only did they not fix it, but they destroyed my alternator too! I eventually moved from San Antonio, but still had a coolant leak they caused but were unable to fix.
To be fair, they didn't charge me for any parts or labor incurred to try and fix the additional problems they caused. But, they never really fixed the problems with my vehicle either...
Use this shop only if you enjoy over-paying for sub-standard work.
