Our new KitchenAid oven needed the
lower oven touch screen replaced, we contacted the manufacture and they called South Texas Appliance Repair.
Tech arrived on time and only x2 days for the service call. They order the replacement part and called us to arrange for the repair. They also called us a few times to make sure we would be here. Xavier was very professional, he talked me thru the repair and his attention to detail was high. Our oven is working great--would definitively call them again to repair our appliances.
Giving only "Good" rating on Appeal as they have a "B" rating with the BBB, the service truck did not have the company logo and their social media reviews are just awful--we either got lucky or they have changed their ways!
South Texas Appliance Repair provides.
If the three stooges were to open an appliance repair shop I'm pretty sure they would name it South Texas Appliance Repair. For over 13 weeks our build in microwave has been broken waiting on these clowns to fix it. At first it was the fuze, then it was a ciruit board. They have ordered and reordered the board and keep getting the wrong one in. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and received an email from the BBB stating that the company would not resolve the issue, so it will remain as a blemish against them.
They do not contact the customer, I have called each time to find out the status of the repair. The owner of the company came out to get more numbers to ensure they are ordering the correct part, 14 days later I call them and Richard said he shows no part in............
If I was to offer any advice to anyone who has these folks show up at your door is as soon as you know it is South Texas Applicance Repair, tell them to get off your property and find another appliance repair comapny.
Also Jenn Air refuses to get involved and bring their power to bear to get this resolved. I have contacted them twice and the second time they said they cant get involved because it is an extended warranty.
All in all this has been a very frustrating experiance for us, but at the same time it has been very illuminating in that I will never ever buy Jenn Air again, I will never ever let South Texas Appliance Repair on my property again.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!. Unconscionable service; too long to list details here. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!
How have they stayed in business this long???. Terrible...I cannot believe Lowe's backs this company up!!!!!!!
No follow through. I have never posted a review online before, but felt compelled to doing so after Lowe's arranged for STAR to come out and take a look at our washing machine. This company offers extremely poor customer service. The tech that came out insulted our intelligence and hardly opened the washing machine to make his assessment. He stated he would call the following day with an update - never happened. My husband called two days later and asked to speak to a manager. We discovered that the tech "closed out" the ticket and claimed the repair had been completed. I can't believe a company like Lowe's would use this awful repair service to help their customers. We have since complained to Lowe's and have been referred to another repair company.
They Broke It!!!!!.
My product warranty company sent this service out to repair my Kitchen Aide ice machine. It was a cluster screw up from the beginning. The very nich tech showed up and diagnosed that a new pump was needed and he said he would be back the following week. He never came back, never called. A month goes by and I remember to call them. They couldn't locate my paper work and when they did, they said it showed my job had been completed. I informed the lady it had not been completed and another 2 weeks go by and I get a phone call that the tech is 15 minutes from my house--no appointment had been made, so I was surprised. So, the guy gets here, installs the pump--never tests it to see if it works properly--he just says, 'you need a plumber to install a filter--ok, fine.
In the mean time, I contact another service company to repair my washer and dryer and I ask him to look at my icemaker. He works on it, installs a filter, tests it and its leaking like a sieve. He pulls out the reservoir and see's it has ben man handled (when the other guy replaced the water pump). Long story stort, half-ass job, and they left it in worse condition than before the job was started.
It is what it is.. My experience with this company has been so so. I have had to call them about 3 different times and only once was the person who answered professional so I don't really think credit is deserved there. On the other hand, I have read a lot of bad things about the technicians, who I luckily haven't had to deal with, but I would only have nice things to say about "Johnny". He was very polite, found the problem right away and was helpful. Unfortunately this company as a whole isn't all that but it seems like this is the company that the warranty refers you to so we're kinda stuck in that sense. If it wasn't covered under warranty I wouldn't choose to go here, I guess that's the best way to put it.
HORRIBLE. Wish there was a negative rating. I can't speak for the company itself but I can speak about the technician that we delt with on 2 different occasions regarding the same issue. Rude, not helpful, and flat out disrespectful to the clients. If you get Martin as your tech I would go ahead and call and request a different person because he is NOT going to help or solve the problem. In fact, he will leave with you practically begging him to stay and wait for your contact to call his boss. Absolutely ridiculous. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rude/Unprofessional staff unable to run a proper business.
I only wish there was a ZERO star available for this "business".
My experience with this company has been poor from the very beginning. Thank God for an extended warranty, since the appliance is a year old! They have come out to my house 4 times to repair the same problem within the past 2 weeks! When I speak to the tech Mike on the phone, he's rude and inconsiderate. What company answers the phone by saying hello, and no company name? I speak with the "manager", whose name is Scott and he yells at me for asking why they are late, by replying "WHAT YOU'VE NEVER BEEN LATE BEFORE"? I stated I'm losing a LOT of money having to stay home while they create their own schedules and don't follow through with the times they tell you they'll be there.
Bottom Line: If you don't have anything better to do than sit at home and wait for the "technician" to arrive, call them. If you don't need your appliance fixed in a timely manner, call them. If you don't care about being treated correctly as a PAYING patron, call them. If you want to be dealt with in a rude manner, call them. If you want to be treated like your a second class person, by un-educated, unprofessional, unreliable people, call them.
If you want to have your appliance fixed in a timely manner, by professional people, save yourself the hassle AND CALL SOMEONE ELSE!
Rating - 5 STARS.
These people only want your money. They could care less if they help you .... Take my advice DO NOT allow these people into your home. My home warranty claims ajuster sent them to mine, I went on-line and read the reviews before they came thinking that they could'nt be that bad, or may be they had a couple of mad custmers. If only I had just called the ajusters and asked for someone else, then i would not be complaining along with everyone else.
The service tech said the problem with my fridge was that the ice-maker shorted out and that it was NOT covered under my warranty. When we refused to pay $200.00 out of pocket he removed the ice-maker from my fridge, put electrical tape on the loose wires and plugged it in. We did not know the wires were touching and this could have ended very badly but thank god for surge protectors. or we could be needing more then just a new fridge. by the way: ice-makers are covered if you fridge is covered....thanks a lot south texas appliance repair.
