This is San Antonio, you can do better elsewhere.
Hubby likes this place for some reason, but just in the year we've been going, it's gone downhill. The cheese tastes like it's velveeta and some of the enchilada sauces are kinda thin. The rice is bland and our child can't seem to find anything she likes there to eat. The last time we went the manager or someone in charge was going on and on to the wait staff about making sure the first thing they ask is if the customer has a coupon. He even had to sit one poor girl down in the middle of the restaurant and reiterate this point to her several times, all within earshot of everyone in the restaurant. Whatever happened to "praise in public, reprimand in private"? I didn't think this was a very professional way to handle such a minor problem, especially when there are so many bigger things wrong with this place.
There are just too many other Mexican restaurants in San Antonio to choose from.Try this one if you must, but I know I won't go back
tasteless food. maybe we had a bad meal cuz it new years day & the cook was punishing everyone or just us who dare come in to eat on a holiday. what were we thinking when we saw that open sign? i dont know what their latest health score is but the interior looks dirty and they use the oldest, most worn out flatware, dishware & glasses available. everything we used was chipped, cracked or bent. abt the food, we ordered bean n chz nachos & they were fine, beans needed salt. then we ordered a plate that included 2 chz enchiladas, 2 puffys & rice n beans. the enchis were lukewarm & the picadillo n the puffy was almost soupy w/starch frm the papas & had no flavor! doused w/salt & salsa, ddnt help. i ddnt eat this tasteless food. the margarita was good & the server was nice but that's not why we came & wont get me to come back.
Authentic. They are a bit authentic for some people's taste but if you try their ChileQuiles, Spicy Steak, or Meatballs. They are also one of the rare places that has horchata which is a plus in my personal book though most people would drool once they taste the owners mothers famous Tres Leches&Rice Pudding.
