Group Fitness Classes Are Disorganized and Too Social. Moved in from our of state and enrolled in Bally's. I would have opted for the 7-day pass but because I did not have TX residency established had to sign up. Needed to work out. Specifically asked the manager of the instructors for the group classes were certified and was told yes. However, I have now attended two classes and they both failed to provide much, if any, of a workout. The first class the instructor was a little more busy with socializing before and during the class instead of starting the class on time and instructing. The instructor played the same song for 50 minutes straight and did not instructor the class as described on Bally's website. the same routine was instructed for 50 minutes. The following day was supposed to be a group power lifting class with 10 different songs. However, there was no organization to the instruction and bicep curls consisted of 20 repetitions total and we were required to hold the bar in a manner that would definitely cause injury. The instructor provided more relaxation after every 20 reps and the muscle groups were mixed and mingled with upper and lower body. Very disorgainzed. The was no cool down period either. there were many major muscle groups missed. Having spent the last two years going to group classes with certified instructors and comparing to what I endured in these two classes was quite apparent that the instructors were not trained or certified and made up the routine as they went along. Most definitely looking for another gym that offers group classes with certified and organized trainers. Any suggestions out there?

Crime at Marbach Road location. There is a lot of crime at this Locations - and Bally's refuses to post any warnings for its members. Make sure your vehicle has an alarm. Make sure your locker has a strong lock. Make sure you don't hang around in the parking lot at night, unless you're a big guy.

The managemnt know the issues but say that Corporate won't let them post any warnings.

Great facilities. Overall, a great place to work out. Nice facilities and it is nice to be able to relax after a work out in the steam room.

This budget gym trims the fat off its patrons at streamlined facilities.. The Scene
Most Ballys stick to the basics for their design. Televisions broadcast silently above multiple rows of cardio machines; mirrored walls act as the primary decorative components. But thanks to high-energy television ads and low-impact membership premiums, this national fitness chain has steadily attracted a clientele bent on saving money while losing weight or gaining muscle.

The Workout
Using fairly standard strength-training equipment and/or racks well-stocked with free weights, the best of the trainers here, who are classified at four different levels, can be as skillful as those found at costlier gyms. For group classes, signature exercise options include Spinning and Powerflex, as well as a number of patented routines inspired by Tae Kwon Do.
