A San Antonio Classic. I have been coming here for a long time, but since moving away I have not been able to make it there as much. I enjoy this family run place where you can see the owners eating with their family all the time. My favorites over the years have still been the Shrimp Toast, Lemon Chicken, and Chicken Lo Mein. I try to come in every time I am town.

We must be lucky. So many here have ragged on this place.....so I was a bit scared. We always dined here in the late 70s with good results. We had hot and sour soup and the special of the day which was lemon chicken, steamed rice and egg roll. It was all good, but the egg roll was very good. No complaints here.

Let's just start by saying the first review(by the dude with. Long story short.we got there got seated right away,we told him table for 2 n yet he sits us at a table for 8ppl.there was a decent spot in the corner for us to eat n we asked if we could sit there instead.it took them about 15 min before we got ouir orders taken.the fat ass waitress basically came over n asked were we ready. I told her"we been ready".she already had a cup of water on her tray which she gav to my hubby. Didn't even look fresh to me.she pretty much threw my cup of pepsi down with a attitude.after that I was done.my hubby could see I was pissed n asked"do u wana leave" he already knew. So we up n walked out, left the stale water,n pepsi on the table n bounced!!nvr again. I don't care if my aunt works there,I'll nvr return there again.

Worst Experience in San Antonio. My girlfriend and I had read good things on Citysearch, but Ding How turned out to be the worst dining experience we've ever had in San Antonio. Here was the evening in a nutshell:

1. Nobody was at the hostess counter, so a busboy tried to seat the two of us at a table for eight. When we turned it down he tried to seat us directly next to the kitchen (the restaurant was only half full). We chose our own table.

2. I'm a vegetarian, and Chinese restaurants are usually vegetarian friendly. The dish I ordered under the "vegetarian" section was obviously made with chicken, and when I informed management that they couldn't lie to their customers they offered little, if any, help.

3. Their hot and sour soup is the worst my girlfriend had ever had. She described it as "just wrong".

4. When I placed a drink order, the waitress had never heard of the drink...even though it was on their menu. Throughout the evening, we had trouble finding waiters/waitresses to help us.

Altogether, don't be fooled by the high rating. This is an abysmal restaurant that obviously doesn't care about its customers. I don't want to assume that San Antonio doesn't have any good Chinese food, but Ding How should not be highly rated. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Best Mongolian Beef in town. By far the best chinese in S.A. This is the place that has the BEST Mongolian Beef. No other place in S.A. makes it like them. It has the perfect level of spicyness to it. All the other chinese placed call it mongolian beef, but i don't know what the hell they consider mongolian beef. This is the place to have. Their lemon chicken is unlike any other, too. I recommend this place to everyone.

Love this place!!!. My boyfriend and I first experience Ding How as an expensive treat to ourselves only to discover the prices were great! Not only that but the food was amazingly great as well. It is by far one of the best Chinese restaurants we have been to. We love to go there when we are feeling down or just want a great meal to take home. The staff is quick and very attentive. We love to take our out of town freinds and family their for a wonderful night out of awesome food.

Great Chinese food!. I have only been in San Antonio a few months, but Ding How is the best Chinese place I have found so far. Their service is great, the atmosphere is nice, and the food is terrific. I recommend the Sesame Beef. Love it!
