ALWAYS GREAT!. I'm a chef and restauranteur myself, and I've never had a bad experience or even an off experience......the food is always prepared consistently, the place clean and relaxing, the staff, especially Dan,very accomodating....even the music is good! I love the attention to detail, and can appreciate the effort they must put forth to make sure everything is right! Even the painting on the walls demonstrate the great lengths they go to make the atmosphere appropriate! I work and run a restaurant close by, and this place is my own oasis away from work! Try their Crispy Duck, its my favorite gauge of good Chinese......you won't be dissapointed!!! This is definately my favorite place, and Andy has a restaurant that even I admire!!! Chef Lorenzo

Great place. I've been eating at Mencius's as since I was in elementary school. The service is great, and the people are very polite and hard working. They never let my tea go below half way, and I always recieve my food promptly after I order it. I highly reccomend it!!!!

not good for groups. If you have more than a few people in your group for lunch, don't go here. Mencius is rude, will separate your party, and do everything possible to insure that you will not have a pleasant lunch.

Great Food/Service Rude. The best Hunan food!! The hostess was rude and so was our waiter.

GREAT FOOD. MY WIFE AN I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR GOOD CHINESE FOOD IN THE SAN ANTONIO AREA FOR TWO YEARS. WE FINALLY FOUND IT AT MENCIUS'S THE MENCIUS BEEF WAS SWEET AND SPICY. THE SPECIAL WON TON SOUP WAS GREAT. AND WE LOVED THE PAN FRIED DUMPLINGS. VERY GOOD SERVICE ALSO.
