BAD SERVICE! BAD FOOD!. BAD SERVICE! BAD FOOD! I ordered 2 salads to go. I arrived 30 minutes after my order and stood and waited another 15 minutes. 45 minutes for 2 salads, are you kidding me? I have never had to wait that long for to go when I call ahead of time. When I commented about waiting so long, all I got was a smirk. Not to mention the southwest chicken salad I received had 6 beans, 4 corn kernals, no bell pepper an only filled two small side serving spaces in the styrofoam plate. That is not a salad! When you pay $9 a salad you would expect more. Mine was comparable to a small house salad you get at a restaurant. I ordered from Los Generales as I left Mama's Cafe and it was ready when I showed up 10 minutes later and it filled my whole to go styrofoam plate! Now that’s a salad and it only cost me $7.50.

Most Rude waitress ever, but decent food.. I have gone to Mama's cafe several times, and the food has always been good enough, the service has been slow, but nothing to complain about until the last time I went. It was for my birthday dinner, so I had a group of friends there were probably 15 of us, we aren't a roudy or loud bunch. The waitress (whose name I dont recall) took a while to even take our drink orders, and then took longer to get us our drinks and take our dinner orders. We were all a little frustrated with the slowness, as we had a movie to catch afterwords and the place was not very crowded. But we never got drink refills and then the waitress came and I asked her for the check, she looked at me and huffed away like it was such a hassle to bring us the check, before I had the chance to make sure she understood it was seperate checks. She came back and handed me one check with 15 orders on it, I polietly told her that we needed seperate checks, she first told me that she could not do that, but when she realized we were all paying with credit cards, she changed her tune but not without taking the orginal check crumpleing it up and throwing on the table- but it actually hit a friend of mine. We were all appauled, and when a friend of mine said he did not want to give the tip because she didn't deserve it (since they did the mandatory tip for the size of our group) she told him too bad and walked away.

I like the food, but havent been, and wont go back after that incedent.

Horrible service. My family and I go there because the location is convenient, but the service is absolutely horrible. They have cereal listed on the breakfast menu, but everytime I try to order it, the waitress tells me they don't sell cereal at this location...so why put it on the menu? My family and I go every week for breakfast, and used to have a regular waitress, Robyn. We loved going there, but now she's gone and we get the most awful service everytime. Usually we have to help ourself to the coffee, or else we won't get any. One time we had to wait over 20 mins for service. The waitress came and apologized because she said someone was having a baby shower. When I looked at the party...it was a table of 5 women...not that many people to neglect us. We are thinking about meeting at Nacogdoches location from now on. It just might be worth the drive.
