Stay away from the drama!. i used to go to hugos until i found out how unethical and unmoral the owner is. he has a "girlfriend" that he lies and cheats on. and he expects his staff to lie to her too! the most embarrassing part is that EVERYONE knows except her. and he is ALWAYS talking about his personal life and flirting with his female clients. no one goes to a spa to hear about drama or someones personal life, i just want to relax! needless to say, i havent been there in a while.
Just say "no" to Hugo!. I received a gift card to Hugo's in February 2008. The stated expiration was one year, but most professional establishments will honor gift cards beyond that point. The business has already received the money, right? Anyway, I had booked an appointment earlier this year, with approval to use the recently-expired card, but they called the morning of the appointment to say my designated stylist would not be in that day. Since I was getting ready to leave town, I said I would have to reschedule. When I called to reschedule, the very witchy response was that they would NOT honor the card. After two unsatisfactory experiences, I will NEVER contact that salon again for any reason and will now purchase my Aveda products at La Cantera.
great customer service.
I tried Hugo's Day Spa for the first time. I got a haircut and full Highlight. Let me tell you it was a great experience! I had my concerns because I have really thick and wavy hair and have had the same hairstyle for years.
I was looking for a change and I got it. I got a more sophisticated cut for my age (54). My hairstyles gave me just enough highlight and yet suttle looking. I was very impressed. Ladies you will love all the pampering you get from start to finish. I know I did.
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!. I had the pleasure of getting a GREAT haircut the other day at Hugo's just off Huebner and Dezavala. I'm new to the area and have driven by many times ,and I always wondered if the service there was as inviting as the appearance of this wonderful Spa seemed. Well, from the minute I walked in the door the girls at the front desk made me feel very welcome, gave me a walk -in appointment, served me a beverage and made sure I was comfortable until I left feeling a little younger than my age and beautiful from my new haircut...( compliments of David) ...I would recomend this Spa to any of my closest friends with confidence they would be treated as I was on this day...what can I say? I can't enough I LOVED MY EXPERIENCE AT HUGO'S !!! I'll be back. kk
Hugo's color salon spa.
My experience @ Hugo's salon spa have always been wonderful . They make me feel like a princess. My stylist is David Gonzalez and he is definitely the best in San Antonio.
The whole experience is absolutely awesome!!! I recommend it to all my friends.
If you want to look sensational, Hugo's Aveda Colour Salon and Spa is the place to come!. I had the opportunity to sit back and bask in luxury while my fantastic stylist clipped and curled his way to creating a new hair style and I even sampled the flavor of this season's latest trends in hair color. At Hugo's the attentive staff also treated me to a mini facial although they offer a wide variety of massage, manicures, pedicures, and other services to enjoy. I felt truly pampered while sipping a glass of wine and I felt as though I was basking in the world of the chic and sophisticated. As my stylist created a youthful new look I didn't mind admitting I felt like a new woman ready to step out into the sunshine ready to take on the new world. You too will feel the same way if you come to Hugo's and enjoy the many wonderful services that this fabulous salon and spa has to offer. Pamper yourself! You deserve it!
A fair review of Hugo's and address to those unsatisfied. In response to the previous patrons reviews of Hugo's Aveda Salon, it seems as if the entire concept of their vision was lost in their unsatisfactory experience; at the core of Hugo's policy is a simplicity that aims to please all: if you are not satisfied with your service, provider or product, its free. Typically, Hugo's strives to achieve balance and if in the case your service did not come out as desired, a correction from another proffessional is usually offered. If this does not suffice, then simply state so and there is no need to pay. Further more, there was a comment reffering to one of the service providers pushing religion on clientelle, which simply doesn't happen. Conversation does, but conversion or attempts don't, it's just impolite. And to address the assumption from one claim that one experience that is not satisfactory is a microcosmic example of Hugo's and the city of San Antonio's lack of fashion, the statement is simply erroneous and an insult to all those who have made it their life's work creating the beauty in San Antonio both inside and outside Salons, boutiques and fashion shows. A statement as presumptuous could only be made by an ignorant or simply a liar. If any client has a problem, call the salon and their dedictation to perfecting the salon experience will be exceeded. I know their work more than most so I think I have an authority on this one.
worst salon ever. The stylist I had was SO arrogant! My thinking was that if I sat through the appointment, something good would come out of it. It was literally the worst cut and color I have EVER had. SO bad that I didn't want to go back to have him fix it. Total nightmare, and the icing on the cake was when he tried pushing his church on me. Don't go there unless you need a wax or aveda products.
If you just moved to SA and looking for a salon... keep looking. HORRIBLE!!!!! If you are looking for a great cut/color you might want to look further. Being from New York City and having always gone to Oscar Blandi, Vidal Sassoon and even Art Luna in LA I am so dissappointed with the lack of hair talent in San Antonio. The cut was awful- layered it way too much considering I have always had long layers and the color was too blonde- no contrast, one big highlight. I won't say who did it however he is supposed to be the best there considering his large investment in the salon...you guess?? I have tried a few other salons in town and they all pale in comparison to the salons in the big cities. Luckily I was just in Nashville and my hair looks once again better than ever. Sorry no recomendations in SA.....buy a plane ticket, spend the money and go to someone who knows what hair creativity is all about.....Kiki Kann
TALENT IS GONE!. Sorry to say that when Josh Herrera and Maggie Moreno left, the talent disappeared. The stylist and receptionists at Hugo's are very rude and do not care about the clients. Maggie was my favorite because she cares about her clients. FHI: She, along with Josh, is now at Sivan. Sorry Hugo's.
