This was a great place that opened in the 1970's and was something that was considered cutting edge way back then. I remember it being packed and it was even covered by "60 Minutes" on TV. The fad was so hot in California where it began, they actually had on site "financing" so you could borrow money to pay for your laps the competition was so intense. Within a few years it was a neat place to go and the video game craze made it and the neighboring Castle one of the best arcades in the city. Then when video games died as PC games took over, they brought in slot cars which were still a lot of fun and something you could take the kids and enjoy that was not a great expense. Finally, it was down to just the track, and now, the building is bulldozed, the lap time score board gone, and only the well travelled concrete of the 1 lap track is all that remains on what must surely be an incredibly valuable piece of land that is nearly impossible to get to from the highway.
Pros: It was a great place and a lot of fun when it was open
Cons: It an empty lot now.
