Editorial Review for Outback Steakhouse – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.

we have been to many steak and seafood restaurants and enjoyed most but our favorite place to enjoy the evening of dinner and drinks is by far the outback steakhouse, my favorite is the steaks which are prepared full of flavor and spiced to perfection in my opinion and the mrs. enjoys the fettuccini pasta with either chicken, shrimp or both and for drink i recomend the walla be darned the best peach frozen drink ever that will not melt like a margerita but will stay frozen till the end all this at a great price, we avoid waiting by going to the bar and wait for a table to open usually under 10 minutes.

Pros: steak, shrimp ,pasta and frozen drink

Cons: parking and waiting list

The last few times I have been to outback I have sent at least one entree back. The steak was tough, salty, and overcooked. I have returned the chicken once for being undercooked and once for being dry. I won't be back, ever. Worst steaks for a steakhouse.

Cons: bad food, busy

Australian tchotchkes and brews give this quintessentially American restaurant a distinctive Down Under flavor.  See the full editorial review.
