Letter i sent to wash tub
I recently visited your Bandera Rd location and purchased a Super Wash for my 2010 Honda Civic. I dropped off the car and waited inside for them to call my name. When that time came, I went out to inspect my car. I found that the front bumper still had bugs and dirt on it, the door jams still had water dripping, there were yellow specs that were easily spotted on various parts of the car (pollen or sap) - these were easily removed, and the windows were not cleaned well. As I pointed this out to the young men delivering my car, I received the impression that I was bothering them. I then popped the trunk and it had not been vacuumed at all. The trunk had nothing in it other than a bit of grass that needed to be vacuumed. A young man took my car to get vacuumed and I went inside and talked to Bob about my dissatisfaction. He acknowledged my concern and went outside to check on my car. When the car was brought back up, the trunk was vacuumed, but the front bumper was still dirty and the backs of the seats were not dressed. The 2010 Civic LX-S has hard plastic seat backs with the center of the back is a soft vinyl. The young man informed me that they don't clean this part. I was now getting frustrated. I shouldn't have to pay for a carwash, then be the one to do the job of inspector. I can understand one or two items, but this was beyond that. I do not expect a full detail, but I do expect a car cleaner than my 7 year old son would produce. I left to avoid becoming angry as I know myself and at this point it was better that I left. I pulled into a business right next to the Wash Tub, called, and spoke to Bob again. I explained what my dissatisfaction was and returned to the Wash Tub. When Bob came out, I pointed out the problems and he stated that the plastic seat backs are vinyl and the soft vinyl insert was leather. I explained that this was not leather - I sell Honda cars for a living - and that I would like it cleaned. He proceeded to insist that this part was leather and it may dry out if they clean it. I told him "I appreciated" his "help" and let him know I will not be coming back and I was going to let people know NOT to go to Wash Tub.
I will be posting this experience on Facebook and any other review site I can find.
Location good, everything else that makes a carwash BAD. The location is too small for the amount of customers they take daily. Interior usually looks like it hasn't been touched, streak marks are a standard, and white wax residue is apparently not of their concern. The only thing they have going for them is the location.
Best Wash Tub in SAT, Beware of untaped wiper blades before wash..
I have an unlimited annual Wash Tub membership that will expire sometime at the end of this year.
Wash Tub is only good when a specific final inspector looks at the finished product. Often times he/she will have it revacuumed, rewashed or rewiped. The main thing I don't like is their car washes are "TOUCHFULL!" It is an old style system that at times will bend/break your wiper blades, exterior panels etc. I would give it a 3. If all the wash tubs became touchless, it would deserve a point higher. If inspected by a qc person [young tall skinny man with glasses], definitely a 4-4.5. Amongst the 3 wash tubs I've been to, I rank Bandera #1, Dezavala #2; and Number 3 only because I've been to only 3 is the Blanco location off the 1604. [Blanco qc guys either don't exist or exist but don't do anything]. The better car washes are the touchless systems that are similar to the shell's and exxon's touchless system but with 2 or 3 carwash guys soaping/sponging the car as it moves. Having these guys around maximizes target cleaning and minimizes mechanical tear.
