great beer selection, very ppor service. place would be much better if not for the abysmal customer service. very rude staff, generally unfriendly place all around.

great hangout. You must try this place! Maybe after a day shopping down the street at La Cantera, let your hair down with a cold one! Ladies, impress the hell out of that special guy and take him here... especially if you've just made him go shopping with you at La Cantera!

Center of the Universe? That's what the front entrance says.. The Scene
It's a strong claim for any location to make, especially a low-profile bar so far out on the shirt tails of San Antonio it's almost in Boerne. But apparently, Hills & Dales has found the solar system's belly button just north of 1604, and it draws everyone from bikers to college students with a huge selection of beer.

The Draw
Imagine being allowed to drink beer and whoop it up in your elementary school cafeteria. Got the picture? Then you've got a fair inkling of the interior of this bar, a one-room, open space with extra-long, bench-style picnic tables. Add a TV, jukebox, darts and pool table to complete the image. More than 80 varieties of beer include assorted bottles from around the world. Varieties like Ace Pear and Abita share draught space with Texas regulars like Lone Star and Shiner.

Center of the Universe. This is the perfect place for Friday happy hours after work. There are picnic tables inside and out. People are none judgemental and will show up in ties, flip flops, or leathers. Beer is bountiful but you can find a wine, wine coolers or champagne for that co-worker you brought. As long as your looking for a laid back atmosphere and cheery voices, this is the place to be.

It IS the center of the universe. Just as the sign says. This place is home for a diverse collection of citizens and denizens that frequent the place for only two reasons. The people and the beer. The people and the beer are many and varied, with over 50 taps for draughts, and a wall of coolers with bottles and cans of beer from everywhere. Don't be coming here in beautiful people clothes, its casual. Also dont worry if you see about 40 harleys out front. they are the locals that ride, and love to show off with pride. It's my favorite place to get a beer anytime.
