Off the Beaten Path – There's a reason that "wilderness" is built into the name of this park--even finding the entrance requires a keen eye. City dwellers, prepare to enter a wilderness with the benefits of safety and seclusion. – – On the Paths – The park's trails are designed at four levels of difficulty. Wide Open Spaces

This park is wonderful for all of the wide open spaces to totally lose yourself in wilderness. There are always secluded places to meditate upon even when the park is full. Your soul can breathe here. As they say, "In wilderness is the preservation of the world." Help preserve the beauty of this place by packing out anything you carry in with you!
- Pros: Easy to get to, Great hiking trails, Free admission
- Cons: Occasionally crowded, No pets rule, Missing trail maps

No pets, no fires, no smoking, no camping.
You Could See:
Birds and armadillos, white-tail deer, raccoons, opossums, jackrabbits and skunks--if not the animals, then evidence of them.
Pay Attention:
The park can be difficult to find. Take IH-10 to the Camp Bullis exit and follow the signs.
