In Short
A 75-minute tour takes visitors 180 feet below the ground to view the elaborate stalagmites and stalactites created by millions of years of Texas rainfall. English majors will appreciate the many references to Beowulf characters in the cavern names. Visitors use a cement walkway and handrails because the trail is steep and wet. Strollers are not recommended, and young toddlers should probably wait topside. Otherwise, the tours are family-friendly.
The Great Escape. Excellent tours, lots of info and great tour guides. A must see if in the San Antonio area
CLASSIC CAVERNS. Great tour of the caverns, many stories go along with the tour, many very interesting. The trip is cool and well lit and an quite an adventure going through "fat man misery" trail. Underground water spots make it even more interesting. Good place to visit. Well worth it.
