Editorial Review for Rosedale Park – by Scott Weier
Maximum Sun
This expansive park is somewhat out of place in the lush Hill Country: unlike other San Antonio parks, which are usually shaded by dense clusters of oak trees, Rosedale park lacks such foliage, leaving it victim to summer's torrid rays.
For Athletes
The park's lack of woods is no doubt due to its many acres of playing fields. Team sportsters will find facilities, not just for soccer, but also for baseball and basketball. The on-site recreation center coordinates team activities; so if you're looking for some teammates, give them a call at (210) 435-5253.
No Running
The trails that meander through the park are adequate for running, but, because they are pedestrian and primarily gravel, they are not suitable for biking or inline skating. Summer runners will no doubt want to cool off in the outdoor pool or at least escape the sun under the picnic pavilion.
