Editorial Review for King William Historic District – by Shannon Botkin

In Short
The 25-block area just south of Durango and north of Guenther was first settled by German immigrants. Now the Victorian-era mansions and perfectly kept gardens provide a welcome backdrop for an afternoon stroll. In the late 1800s, this was the most elegant neighborhood in the city, and this fashionable historic district is now home to several unique shops, restaurants and historic homes. The Guenther House and Steves Homestead were both 19th-century residences which now serve as museums.
