Once a thousand trolley cars crisscrossed the Twin Cities. What's left is a 2-plus-mile ride from a station in Minneapolis' Linden Hills neighborhood northward and back again (in reverse). The bright yellow trolleys, some nearly a century old, are beautifully maintained. The cars bring in everyone from tourists, transportation buffs and seniors who remember the real thing to couples on dates and the kid in all of us.
