Editorial Review for Barbara of San Antonio – by Kimberly G. Tebrugge
Art Forms
Jewelry and art greet visitors walking in the door. World-renowned artist Sergio Bustamante creates most of the pieces, and it's difficult to suggest where his greatest talent lies. He impressively works silver and gold together in delicate jewelry, while his bold sculptures of various media are coveted and copied by other artists. Barbara is one of the few stores in Texas to carry his work (the artist and owners are friends), and you won't find his expressions anywhere else in San Antonio.
Home Decor
A dangerous store to window-shop, Barbara tempts buyers with unique selections for home interiors. Handpainted furniture, mirrors and candles are just some of the enticements. What isn't here is anything common.
Fashion
The store boasts a selection of handbags and fashionable clothing from trendy to formal. Evening gowns of slinky fabrics maintain simple lines and have a classic look even when adorned with sequins and glitter.
