Authentic Japanese Food-Great!!. A family owned restaurant that has been passed down over generations, open since 1970, you really get a sense of friendliness when you go there. I remember when the original owner, Mrs. Wester asked everyone to call her mama, and was originally from Japan. They have a great ambience and excellent service. Excellent sushi and the best soup I have ever Tasted (Fujiya Soup "TRY IT!!"). The new manager, Mrs. Wester's second son, George Wester is from Hawaii and really brings the Aloha to the Restaurant!! I would recommend everyone to stop by and try a little something.

Truely Japanese. I used to live in Japan and let me tell you that Fujiya is the best. I took a Japanese acquaintance and he loved it! I even get to practice my Japanese since the owner is from Okinawa. They also make the best yakisoba in the U.S. I love the plastic food in the front, reminds me of Japan.

Great sushi!. This place is awesome. I am a transplanted California sushi snob, but this compares with the best of them. Great ambiance, excellent service, and high quality sushi.

Fine Presentation and Taste. Fujiya's is one of the best Japanese restaurants in San Antonio opposite of what the last poster stated. The sushi is very fresh being that sushi does not come straight from the ocean and onto your plate. An educated person would know that. Obvoiously he's not. I highly recommend to try the other menu items, as they are extensive. Not sure what sushi to try? Here's some ideas: flower roll, crunchy roll, hand rolls, and maybe some smoke salmon nigri.

Dinner for 3 lovers?. My girlfriend and I went to Fujiya this last monday. Niether of us sushi experts, we ordered the "Famous Dinner for two lovers" (against our waitress's advice). That dinner is too much food for any two lovers I've ever met. But it was all so excellent! We left the restaurant with full stomachs and a take-home box to the brim with fried pork, shrimp, and steak.

I have to go here every week!!. I have to go to this resturant at least once a week. If I go longer than that I will start to crave it every day after that. There sushi is really good. If you have never tried sushi you want to start out with the california roll the inside out one is the best. They also have the Fujiya soup that is soooooo good!! If you go alone sit at the bar, that way you can see what all the other people are ordering. For those people that drink you have to order there sock-e (don't know how they spell it). CAUTION : Don't drink it too fast cause that stuff will mess you up. If you go there you will enjoy it the atmosphere is very nice. Good place to take a date if they like sushi.(sit by the water fall it will make it more romantic)
