Editorial Review for Threadgill's – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Texas tunes are on the jukebox and vintage signs cover the walls. The parking lot features antique farm machinery. The casual atmosphere is popular with families; kids especially like the railroad sidecar that's been converted into a dining area. The chicken-fried steak is the signature dish, although the meat loaf may run a close second. The vegetable selections are the Texas soul food sort and include red beans and rice, fried okra and black-eyed peas.

We were recommended by several people to go to Threadgills so we were a but disappointed. No major complaints it just doesn't live up to all the hype. Service was kind of pokey but friendly... food just average.
Pros: Downtown location, friendly service
Cons: No real cons, just an average experience

The vegetables were decent, fried shrimp were okay, steak was nothing special and the rolls were pretty good. The service was good, even though one of our orders wasn't placed. Nobody at our table really enjoyed their meal.
