Highly Recommended. Dr. McFarland is an exceptional physician with an awesome staff and definitely worth the wait, although I never had to wait more than 15 minutes or so. She is extremely thorough, professional, competent, and straight-forward. She gives you facts and accurate explanations without the unnecessary emotions and pretense which can sometimes be more anxiety-provoking, in order to better prepare you for any unexpected complications or problems. She is a high-risk perinatal-fertility specialist so you should expect much closer follow-ups and the required special testings; otherwise, if you have a routine or normal pregnacy, you should only need your regular Ob-Gyn anyway. Truly blessed to have met Dr. McFarland and especially blessed to have our now 16-mos. old healthy baby boy at my age of 42!!

Not recommended. You'll get quality care, but be prepared for LONG office waits (up to 2 hours), and potentially expensive testing depending on your insurance.

Dr. McFarland is very competent at what she does skill-wise, but has a very forced bedside manner that isn't comforting nor comfortable. Most of the staff is nice. If you were referred here by your regular OB, be sure you communicate with him/her about how long you should expect to go and what kind of testing you really need - sometimes it feels like they have you come back for additional appts./tests beyond what is really needed.

Unfortunately there are not many Dr's in SA that are this type of specialist, so you may not have a choice, but if you do then seriously consider at least checking out alternatives before making an appointment.
