Editorial Review for David's Bridal – by Citysearch Staff
In Short
A chic, sleek boutique, it's not. But those willing to look carefully will likely find a big-time bargain. The staff is helpful and knows the merchandise but doesn't provide extensive one-on-one attention or advice. Stores (particularly on weekends) can be swamped with brides-to-be. David's specializes in beaded satin A-lines and simple lace sheaths that just hit the $500 mark. Most labels are tasteful but of medium-quality: Gloria Vanderbilt, Lady Eleanor, Oleg Cassini and the likes.

It was a great experience..I'm sure it depends on who you get, but my consultant was amazing- she made me feel like I was the only customer she was going to see all day and I didn't feel rushed at all. If you go there, ask if Jenny can help you- she's great!

I have moved quite a bit and have been in several weddings, so I have been to several David's Bridal stores. The David's Bridal on Research Blvd in the Gateway Shopping center is the BEST David's I have been served by. They had a knowledgeable and helpful team of consultants that helped with getting dressed, carrying very heavy and cumbersome wedding gowns, and matching everything up. The sizes are weird, but once you get over being told you will be a size or two bigger than normal it's ok. My friend even got a call when her consultant noticed the bridesmaid tops she wanted were about to be unavailable so everyone was able to get them in time. Going back on a Saturday was crazy, but truth be told the consultant let us know it would be that way when we made the appointment. We just didn't believe her! She said they only work with two brides at a time, but we had 4 bridesmaids too and though she tried to help and was efficient, we missed the personal attention we got the first time there on a weekday. It seems the other reviews on here are pretty harsh because you can't compare David's Bridal (where you can often get a pretty gown for 99 bucks) to Belle Saison or Serendipity or those other places that give you champagne where they have less customers because your buying a 4 thousand dollar wedding gown. It's like any other retail store (which I have worked) but much busier. Even when we were upset about saturday being so busy, she apologized sincerely for the harried service and we left happy. I say bring your own bottle of champagne, buy some dixie cups and enjoy a friendly staff on a leisure WEEKNIGHT.
Pros: hard working staff, good prices, knowledgable service
Cons: saturday crowds, antiquated sizing, small dressing rooms
