'eh. The Margaritta was very good, small, but strong and tasty. So, I was dissapointed when the food came. It was the second time I had eaten at the La Fonda chain. My first experience was La Fonda on Main, which was average mexican food at an inflated price. This was just bland Mexican food at Sunset Ridge with very slow service that was almost obsolete...not to mention some of the orders were wrong when they arrived.

GREAT "Comfort Food". I'm a native of San Antonio, and while there are a zillion Tex-Mex places in town, my grandchildren and I love to come here for basic "comfort food." Yes, it's very mild, but young taste buds need that. I come here specifically for that, and to let them enjoy the ambiance of a sit-down restaurant where even the six year old is expected to use good table manners and his "inside voice." He and his ten year old sister clean their plates, and enjoy every bite. Cheese enchiladas, quacamole, chips and queso, beef tacos, are their favorites. I enjoy what I have, as well, and more importantly know I always get good quality and service.. The waitstaff are polite and professional, and everyone is warm and welcoming. For old Mexico, go to Picante Grill...for spicy, go elsewhere. For a calm, casual dinner where you always know what to expect, come to La Fonda Sunset Ridge...and get over yourselves!

This One is the Weak Link. The La Fondas have been seperately owned for years now and this is the weak link in the pack. This one is owned by a nice and rich gentlemen who, with all his good intentions and Alamo Heights politeness, just cannot put it together like La Fonda Oak Hills and Main Street can. There is just no za-za-zoo to this place, it is about as generic and plain as a Taco Bell in New York City. Go to the other La Fondas, but avoid this one.
