great place to eat vietnamese food in texas. walked in vietnam gardens and was welcomed in with a smile and treated like i was vietnamese ,with great respect, didn't know what i wanted to eat and was help by a beautiful vietnamese girl, who look like she was really into helping me make some choices, you dont get one-on-one help like that anymore,i was surprized, its just sit down and someone will be with soon, she went threw the menu with me , and i end up ordering some bun ga xao, spring roll, summer roll and combination fried rice,,,,i have had fried rice before, but that fried rice made at that restaurants was the best i ever had,the food was great and was made fresh, and so was the jasmine tea, the price was reasonable.i would reccommend this place to anyone who love asian food, vietnamese food.I asked the people in thare, they say they have been eating thare for yrs, and the foods has always been great, but then you have people from vietnam, that grew up in nam where the food is authentic, saying that the food is not like home,,,come on people you are in texas where on every conner that a taco shop, and i think for this restaurant to have been around nine yrs says a lot, true that it can use a up grade, but the atmosphere in nice and cozzy
Ok service, Not so great food.
I went to Vietnam Garden because I was desperate, and probably wouldn?t return again unless I was desperate. I am Vietnamese and was raised in a Vietnamese family, (not adopted; which there is nothing wrong with being adopted. I am just explaining my cultural background) so I know Vietnamese food.
I had the rice and pork chop dish. This dish is traditionally to be made with broken rice, and it wasn?t. My pork chop was poorly flavored; just way too salty. The ?Nuoc Mom? was not prepared to taste. Needless to say I was a bit disappointed.
For the amount of money I paid I?d expect a decent or at least a mediocre meal. I?m not saying that it was expensive but rather for the type of meal I should?ve been looking at fast food prices. Similar to some fast food places the components were there but just weren?t put together well.
On a positive note the server was pleasant and the ambiance was nice. I did dine with my family and they said their dishes were ok.
A Great Must Try. Vietnam Garden is a great "Hole-in the-Wall" restaurant. It has been around for only three years, but has earned a great word of mouth following. Many people who try their Chinese, Vietnamese, or even Thai food agree they serve some of the best around town. They are very reasonably priced, and won't leave a whole in your pocket. The owners of the this establishment work Monday thru Saturday, open to close, and are always happy to talk with their customers and suggest they try new items. The wait staff is also very friendly and ready to help with anything you may have questions about. Anyone who has not visited Vietnam Garden should definitely give it a try. I've tried restaurants all around town, and this is one that keeps me coming back after 3 years, and I don't hesitate to recommend to everyone!
