Painfully Mediocre. After Dr. Gonzalez left I thought I would try another doctor at Tejas Pediatrics. I took my son to Dr. Bauer, and I have no real complaints as she was nice enough. However, the practice itself is just very mediocre. When you walk in the doors it is very drab, and I have never been greeted with much kindness or enthusiasm. For people who have the privilege of working with children I should think they would be happier. It's almost like walking into a run-down health clinic. If it were a car dealership it would definitely be more along the lines of Kia rather than Lexus :) I just really want a pediatric office that I would feel comfortable recommending to friends, and this is not it. After paying $25 dollars to get my four pages of records (thanks Hippa for not being more specific as to what a reasonable copying charge is), I am going to try Through the Years Pediatrics which many of my friends love.
Dr. Gonzalez is now at Huebner Pediatrics. For those of you who love Dr. Gonzalez she has relocated to Huebner Pediatrics. Dr. Gonzalez has been my daughter's pediatrician since birth. She recently sent me a card stating that she moved however, I misplaced it. My daughter was not feeling well so I called Tejas Pediatrics to find out where my favorite doctor went and they refused to give me any information, which is against the law. Further, now they want to charge me some ungodly amount to get my daughter's medical records transferred. My daughter was a very ill child, she had reflux and went through feeding tubes, and many, many tests including a Cystic Fibrosis scare. Dr. Gonzalez was the first pediatrician that my daughter had. I remember when she came into the hospital after Alyssa was born all I can remember is her beaming smile and wonderful demeanor. I had to change pediatricians at one point because she did not accept my daughter's insurance however after the new doctors misdiagnosis and subsequent hospitalization and the fact that Dr. Gonzalez happened to be doing her rounds and asked the nurse to ask me if she could come see Alyssa I told her of course since you are her doctor again and I AM NEVER SWITCHING DOCTORS AGAIN. i am disappointed on how Tejas Pediatrics has not only treated the best doctor in this city but her patients. I know I am not the only one because as I was sitting in the waiting room of Huebner Pediatrics the other day EVERYONE that walked through that door complained about Tejas Pediatrics. I will not recommend them to any friends and/or family and/or enemies ever.
Great Docs!!!. We Have seen Dr Bauer for almost 10 years!! We love her, can't say enough about her wonderful care. My kids have also seen Dr Beatty many times, she's just as great too. Very happy with this practice. Love the brand new office, so nice & perfect location.
We LOVE Dr. Gonzalez. Being a first time mom is very difficult, especially when you don't have a Pediatrician picked out until the week before your baby is delivered!! I was given Dr. Gonzalez's name by my OB-GYN and I have been so pleased with her from day 1. She has a great, friendly staff that my 2 year old son adores (In particular Shonia). I have every faith and confidence that Dr. Gonzalez will do everything in her power to ensure my son is healthy and receives the best prescriptions and care as needed. We drive across town just to see Dr. Gonzalez and highly recommend her to anybody and everybody. Not necessarily the most kid-friendly waiting room, but Dr. Gonzalez makes up for that with her smile and excellent service.
Thank God For Dr. Gonzalez. Dr. Gonzalez has been there for my family for 10 years now. She was recommended to me from my OB. When my first child was one month old she had to be put in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. Dr. Gonzalez was there everyday with me. She explained everything that was going on with my daughter. So naturally we kept going to see Dr. Gonzalez when she moved to the office she is now. We travel a good 45 minutes to see her smiling face. She know my family and all my kids medical history. Now that they are moving again, you bet I will follow her again. She now treats all five of my children. I recommend Tejas Pediatrics to all parents who love their children enough to give them the very best.
What In The WORLD???. My daughter was diag. with reflux. Never heard of it and didn't know what it was. She cried endlessly. and so did I. I went to the Dr. (Bauer) and she perscribed meds, one of which made my baby even more uncomfortable so I stopped giving it to her. Never got any explanations just a give her this and do this so I went home thinking everything was going to be okay and it wasn't. I would research on the internet and call with questions. I just felt like they weren't as worried about my little one as I was. As short of a time as they spent with me they could of atleast acted like it. They have too many patients and Dr. Bauer couldn't remember what she told me from visit to visit. She thought that if she pushed the issue that it would have made it so. Couldn't remember some of the changes that were made over the phone...I had to remind her. I'm changing doctors right away. Oh, I asked to be refered to a pedi Gi specialist for the reflux and she refused! Why??What's it to her?? No help AT ALL!!
Highly Reccomended. Although my Children haven't seen Dr. Gonzalez yet, I was glad to see the reviews and let everyone know who reccomended her to me. My mother is an L&D nurse so when I had bad experiences with 2 pedi's I asked her to talk to the nursery nurses at the hospital. That is where the whole group was highly reccomended to me. I am looking forward to my first appointment as my daughter has serious stomach problems and I acan't wait to see a Docotor who can help! Not to mention it really says alot when the nurses that work daily with this group feels that they are the best out there!
Best Doctor - Someone Who Really Cares About Your Child. Both my children go to Tejas Pediartics, Hayley (9) and Lauren (3), under the care of Dr. Gonzalez. I cannot express my gratitude for this establishment. From the greatest doctors, Nurses (Frances) (Shonia)and all the way through the person who answers the phone. I have recommended this office to everyone who will listen. I had a premature baby who only weighed 1lb 12ozs, and was in NICU for 5 months, when we were getting ready to leave the hospital I asked the NICU doctor if he could recommend a specialty doctor to see my special needs child and he asked me who my older daughter saw and I told him she had been seeing Dr. Gonzalez since she was at another clinic on Marbach, and he told me that I already had one of the best doctors out there. Dr. Gonzalez and Tejas Pediatrics have been wonderful and have gone way beyond the call of duty for my family. She has always listened to my worries and taken care of all my concerns. I feel very blessed to have her in my children's life . Rhonda Reeder Banuelos
After reading the only review I thought I'd let you know how a "real" patient feels. I don't know if this guy had a bad day or what, but we LOVE Tejas Pediatrics. My regular Dr that I see is Dr. Bauer and she has always been wonderful when we are there. There have been a couple afternoon visits that we've had to wait for (meaning that there are other patients and it's busy) but for the most part we always get in and out of the office pretty quick. I know of at least a half dozen other friends who go here also and we've all been going for 5+ years. I would HIGHLY reccomend this office and the wonderful staff. I have also seen Dr. Beaty and another Dr that I can't remember her name right now. They've all been great.
PS No, there are not that many toys. A couple large items but not much else. Less things for my kids to get germs from if you want my opinion.
Worst Service ever. If you care good service, smiling personel do not go in there. Everything is fine on the phone but once you are in the office they treat you like dirt! We waited for an hour and get so mad that we did not want towait for another hour to see the doctor. Thanks God ours was a well child visit and we had the chance to walk away. Also there were only very few toys and NO BOOKS in the office. The only good thing was the two waiting rooms, one for sick child the other for well child. I have no idea about the doctors but it was the least busy pediatricians office I have ever been. That must also tell you something...
