GREAT PLACE!. Ok, well my husband and I travel around the country for business and love to visit pubs everywhere we go. We've been down to San Antonio 3 times in the last year and gotta say we love the atmosphere. The food was incredible and the waitress was wonderful (forgot her name). We went later in the evening each time after our convention/meetings but so glad we did. The music was outstanding and we were truly impressed by 2 bands we've seen there. The Max was great and then we caught Audiomouth the next 2 times. It was so nice to see the guys of Audiomouth actually jump off stage and interact with the crowd and even spent time talking to everyone at the club during their break. That is quite unusual but so refreshing and we hope to catch those bands again soon this fall. This is definitely a must-see stop for us and highly recommend to all my colleagues for a great relaxing evening and top entertainment. 5-stars guys.
Great place but you have to get past the moody boucers.. This is why. After more than a year I have frequented the place and seen over and over again people not being let in at the door one day was my turn. I was not too concerned about it but the people with me asked me if I was kicked out of the place before and looked at me strange. The place inside is great and the bartenders wonderful. No charge at the door and plenty to do inside. Always good bands. You just have to pass the bouncers at the door and it is getting old. Really. I am not a kid and do not deserve to be humiliated in front of my friends. Groups come in and get pushed away. It happens all the times, people get frustrated and have to drive away because one was not admitted in. I have seen even a pilot been turned away. The poor guy had only one beer at another bar and he has a reputation of steel. Some places have a line outside and some others will not let you in because they are at capacity. At Sherlock's there are a couple of punks at the door who will humiliate you in front of your friends for no reason at all and with an attitude too. The question is: if you are having fun one night and decide to go there do you want to take a chance to drive there and one of you after getting mocked is not let in?
Sux All the Way!!!.
Staff (especially Door)...terrible
Band>Sound totally off (highs thru the roof) Earaches all around
Food>who knows, server not to be found
Terrible....You've been warned!!!
We want AUDIOMOUTH band....
I'd give it 5 stars if San Antonio's hottest band played there on Monday nights but only see them a handful of times at Sherlocks. AUDIOMOUTH is the band we like and they put on a great show. My friends and I would like to see them more on Monday college nights...they have a great following from UTSA and my friends at Texas State. Those guys are going places for sure.
Oh, and my fav bartender is Sherri.....beautiful gal and so nice to us all. Great job in hiring her Sherlocks.
Nancy :)
Bands. Live music is good but i wish they would get Delta House in there.....that band ROCKS
great place to meet men (& women). Great crowd of all ages. cheap beer. good bands.........................Monday nights are the best!
Nice Place. If you people think prices are high there and it is real smoky, think again.Just come to Hawaii and we will talk about hi prices and smoky places.I do visit San Antonio as many times as can and like Sherlocks for great people and good bands
Very, very smoky.
Compared to the Sherlock's in Dallas, this place does not even come close. Not much class.
Nice bar staff, okay waitstaff, good doorstaff.
The place is insanely smoky, I dont even know if there is a working vent. system.
The patio is nice, plenty of seating and potted plants.
Overall, I would never go back with washed hair and dry clean only clothes. Perhaps it is less smoky during happy hour, I was there on a Sat. night.
The most fun in S.A.. My boyfriend & I love going to Sherlocks in fact we met there. We make it a point to go at least once a month! Great staff, awesome bands (especially E-7), fun place to watch games, easy going atmosphere.. Hands down the most fun in S.A. on the N.C. area
sherlocks in a nut shell. i cant believe that people complain about the prices of sherlock. open-close everyday= 6.00 domestic pitchers....1.75 domestic draft......1.75 wells.....2.25 jack, captain, smirnoff and more. sunday and monday=happy hour all night....if you can't afford that then you can't afford to leave you house. and maybe that is why you get poor service because those waitresses and bartenders will only put up with a bad tipper for about 2 rounds...who can blame them....and also if it seems slow realize you have about 3 waitresses on a side trying to wait on about 500 people.
