mexican food. This place has a very nice atmosphere;except for the food. The rice is terrible and so are the re-fried beans. The food comes out warm instead of hot. The enchiladas are awful , they should learn how to make them like Chuy;s . I recommend it only for drinks nothing more . Oh and their table salsa is terrible as well

Horrible service. The food was not incredibly bad but the service was HORRIBLE! Particularly at the Sonterra location. We waited forever for drinks, refill, chips, and our food. Once the food finally came out it was that great, especially for waiting so long.

Gone down fast. Has gone downhill........Top Management cares little about their customers.....Eat somewhere else

I love the other Pericos. Dinner at Pericos on Sonterra was awesome. I ate at the bar and the guys love being there. It was almost like the bartenders were putting on a show. They were busy but kept up with conversation. Oh and those Tacos Ricos are awesome.

Average at best...downhill since '05. Once upon a time...long long ago, Perico's was a great mexican food choice. Somewhere around 2004-2005, things went downhill, and never rebounded. Fajita meat is salty and tough, they no longer serve the creamy green sauce with the chips, and food never comes out hot anymore..just lukewarm. I continue to give this place teh benefit of the doubt, returning 2-3 times each year only to reaffirm my last opinion...with so many outstanding mexican restaurants in SA...and a comparably priced but superior Salsalito less than a mile away, I am done with Pericos.

Best Mexican Cuisine. This a very clean Mexican Rest., we have been their many times the past 6 yrs and the service is good. Yes it does get busy on weekends, but patience and it's worth the while.The food is good and hot , and the drinks are good also.You must try their Victoria Secert drink..it's the best.

Their enchiladas are great and also their tacos as well. Their bath rooms are very clean and their hostess Missy n Joey are great . So yes I highly recommend this place.

mexican resturaunt uses american cheese.... We live in neighborhood and like this place. We have always gotten fairly good service but after reading other's reviews I get that this may not be the norm. A waitress named jazz took care of us more than once and she is top notch. The food has always been quite good and the menu is diverse. They have good mole worth mentioning. Now the thing I don't like about them is a biggie...the default yellow cheese they use is plain old American cheese!!! Yes even on their enchiladas!!! I thought I was imagining things so I asked a waiter and yep, the only way to get tacos or enchiladas or anything else there to not be made with American cheese is to ask for whatever your ordering to be made with white cheese which is Monterrey Jack.. What a bummer man--parking shortfalls are nothing compared to wanting to bring your own cheese to a restaurant. Mariachi music played live was quite a treat on the weekend but they were hard to hear over the noise of people talking loudly. I wish they had come to our table but they didn't get around to us, partly due to our coming late no doubt.. We're going again tonight and to assure good service and food will ask for Jazz and white cheese only.

Music too Loud-. Average food & average prices. Music way too loud at times to enjoy atmosphere because you cannot hear what your friends are saying. Mexican food is my favorite, so I expect better. However, they do serve mole--which is rare in most Mexican restuaurants and it is delicious.

Excellent food!. Very attentive service (the managers must be reading Citysearch). Excellent salsa, cheese enchiladas with beef fajita meat, homemade corn and flour tortillas. Every table had at least one kid and at least one margarita (but none of the kids were drinking margaritas!) Great patio (Bandera location) and live music on Thursday, Fri, Sat. I'll go back.
