The Scene – Couples and families make up the bulk of the clientele in the always-buzzing dining room, while singles rule at the bar. The restaurant and bar are separated by a narrow and often crowded breezeway. Lighted columns and a quartz-like border on the bar imbue the room with an otherworldly glow. – – The Food – The appetizer sampler is popular in the bar for its light assortment, including tender crab cakes and coconut shrimp. A delicious side, the mofongo is a lumpy mixture of mashed plantains served with pork rinds. The parillada mixta is a meat-lover's…
Not Consistent, Was A Favorite Not Anymore.

I have tried Azuca several times, when they first open it was fantastic. The flavors were bold, fresh, the food served hot, the place decorated colorful and the service was great. But lately it has been terrible, lunch and dinner. The food coming out of the kitchen is not fresh or consistent. The cerviche was old and over marinaded, the portions are getting smaller and the wait time for the food is slow. The corn bread is delicious, the tortilla soup is spicy and the pineapple ice cream dessert is to die for. Sometimes the flavors are excellent and other times the food is just bland. As many times I have been there I am highly disappointed with the food and service, they are not consistent, so I won't be coming back for at those prices I can get better food elsewere. Azuca can be very busy on the weekends, live entertainment is good and noisy, plus parking can be a problem.
- Pros: Ambience, Live Entertainment
- Cons: Food Not Consistent, Service is Slow and Parking
Delicious flavors but not so nice ambiance

The food is amazing and the mojitos are not too shabby.... The was a weird odor in the bar both times I have gone. It's a musty pine sol smell. It reminds me of my grandpas house. The second time I went we sat inside. Besides having to fight off what seemed like a millions flies who seemed as eager as me to eat my scrumptious meal, we sat by the window which was lined with little cups of powder. Come to find out through my waiter as we left, it was, well it rhymes with pat and roison!!!!! (This website won't let me write those two words). I'm not sure how the San Antonio health inspector has let those offenses slip through the hole, but if you can look through the less than exemplary health standards of the joint
the food is great.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: Vermin issues
Best Latin Flavor

I have been going to Azuca since it has opened and it still meets my expectations and more. The salmon jibaro is done perfectley, the shrimp diablo and my favorite the Tuna Negro are delicious always falvorful and keep your mouth watering wanting more. My family has ordered the parrillada mixta and the meet has been tender and well seasoned. The only thing I have to say they need to improve on are their Patacones or also known as tostones. They seem as they are frozen and friend they have no flavor and are not crispy as they should and their mojo has been lacking in garlic flavor. However there decor is amazing with vibrant colors and the ambience is great with amazing service and great taste in decor. i highly reccomend this place
- Pros: food,ambience,service
