Best in San Antonio. I know several people who get tattooed by Justin regularly, have done so for several years, all of their tattoos are beyond beautiful! Calavera's has the best tattoo artist in the San Antonio IMO (Justin Martinez). He's always professional, friendly, & more than happy to set up appointments. This is quality artwork for a bargain (imo). I'm surprised it doesn't cost more to get artwork done here (so really what is $3-$5 to park when this tattoo will be with you for life, consider it as part of the investment). Also, it is not like a haircut where you can walk in, you make an appointment in advance. MY ADVICE: go in tell the artist what you want & MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, DON'T CALL THE DAY OF! People, if you're calling just to see what time they close, that doesn't help, they don't know what you want, no sense in getting upset with them. Ask questions so they know what you're plans are or what you expect. You can't expect to call the day of, go in 2 hours before closing & get custom work, give the artist(s) some time to prep. My husband went in made an appointment (almost 1 month in advance) to get his tattoo (paid $3 to park) & spent no more than 10 mins inside. Justin remembered us from almost 4 years before (a friend went to get some work done & we went with him), knew exactly what my husband wanted, knew the style, he isn't out to make a quick buck, I believe he truly loves what he does & is great at it, & cares about the work he does. This is not some tattoo parlor where you walk in & pick a tattoo off a wall, the artists specialize. There is such thing as tattoo parlor etiquette, everyone, educate yourself in it, it makes the experience better for all parties.

Genuine Work. I love what I got. I went in not knowing what to get and the artist worked with me to create something amazing. Perfect tattoo and great people!

This Place rocks. my friends and i have had a few tatts done here and the work is always great. I trust the artist and they make you feel comfortable....so what if you have to pay 3-5 dollars for parking. i $h!t 3-5 dollars tight a$$ who wrote the first review....they take appoinments which is great so next time make one----

better make sure they are open. i had called the day i planned on going and was told that they closed between 9:00 and 9:30 that night, so i got there at 7:30, and paid $3 for parking (your going to have to pay $2-$5 for parking) and i walked up to the door and it was locked with a sign reading, "Bosses' Birthday Gone Fishing." So in my opinion this is not a well operated business. If you do decide to go here to get any work done, my advice to you is to call the day you are going, call again before you leave to go, and call when your almost there. Because paying $3 to park your car in a parking lot for 2 minutes is not that fun.
