I have been to all the ice cream places I know of in San Antonio (it is my favorite dessert!) And I try to stay away from franchises like baskin, marble, cold stone, etc... Brindles is by far the best in town, their young service is surprisingly very customer friendly, and many times you will find the owner there working and he can talk about his love of ice cream forever (which I love :) In the summer his son comes down from school and works there too, it's a true family business with a passionate onwer, hard to find! I have found other places like davinci off 1604 and stoneoak, but more often I get bad service from a woman you can tell is not happy at work, i feel shy to ask to try more than 2 flavors because she looks so grumpy :( once I got good service from who think was the owner but that was only once... If brindels was near my work, I wouldn't even bother going to davinci, bc brindles has triple the flavors and the staff always makes me feel welcome and encourages me to try their favorites... plus their open until midnight on fri and sat, I am going to amc to watch a film tonight and we always go to brindels if we are in the amc shopping center, so i encourage everyone, but especially ice cream lovers, to stop by if in that center or area and just try a few flavors at least :) you won't find better ice cream anywhere!
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Should be 24hrs! lol

Finally, a place with authentic Italian gelato! I spoke with the owner and his wife who own the one small shop and found that they lived in Italy for a while and were so impressed by the gelato that they wanted to bring it back to San Antonio to fight the heat. (We need that here) The service was great and very polite, but the thing that really struck me was the authentic gelato! I still can't get over the idea of a real gelateria in San Antonio like the ones in Italy! Also, they have a GREAT selection, including popular Italian flavors.
Pros: authentic, laid-back, amazing selection
