I have eaten here several times and I never like what i order, but to top it off they keep raising their prices and lowering their portion sizes. They blame this on the economy and inflation with their nice little notes on the tables, BUT there are 2 other AMAZING Thai places in San Antonio that have way better food, bigger portions, AND are priced affordably. Thai O'Cha on East Aviation is amazing if you live in the UNiversal City area their Pad Thai is delish and Thai Chili off Thousand Oaks is delish also, but a little farther out for me since I live in U.C. But Bangkok Cuisine just dissapoints in every aspect, from taste, portion size and PRICE. They charge way to much and their customer service is horrible!! Hate this place!!
Wonderful foo. We'll miss that..
This place has been Zagat rated since 2005. Their food is simply heaven to the taste buds. My co-workers and I go there almost every week, and my wife insists on going every Saturday (tough for me ;-)
It is an unassuming and non-pretentious place, where you can get fine Thai cuisine in a Mom & Pop diner athmosphere. And don't let that athmospher fool you... you will enjoy the food, I'm sure. I have invited people over many times, and when they come back to town, they always ask to go there.
Those who say it is expensive are living in a different world. $6.99 for a made-to-order, Zagat rated entrée including soup is a steal.
Great Food, Great Service. Food is excellent. Good Service Will definitely return. Variety of hot tea could be raised. Tasted of food WOW!
Awesome Thai Food. Wonderful Thai food. Great service. The owner personally prepares all the dishes herself, then comes out after all the dishes are served to check on everything. She's hardworking and dedicated, and will do everything in her power to make sure you have a wonderful experience in her restaurant. There are a variety of dishes, all offered with your choice of meat or combination meat. The dishes can be prepared as spicy (or not spicy) as you like, just the server know what your preference is. Most dishes can be prepared for vegetarians, if requested. My favorite dish is #42 with chicken! Make sure you leave room for dessert. The coconut ice cream with sticky rice is incredible! We've been eating here for years and would recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves great Thai food.
Good food, high prices, poor service. The food at Bangkok Cuisine is tasty and fresh, I will give them that. And the service, although generally poor, is not the worst I've ever seen. But the prices are out of proportion to the amount of food and to the competing restaurants in the area. Case in point: I placed a to-go order for a lunch special that normally comes with soup; I also ordered an extra soup for my husband. I was charged $5 for the extra cup of potato soup! I mentioned to the cashier that this seemed high, was he sure that was correct? He said it was. When my order came out, there was only one cup of soup. I said I had ordered an extra cup, and was told that soup didn't come with to-go orders! This didn't even make sense considering that I was getting my $5 cup of soup to go; why not the soup with the special too? So, in total, I paid $14+ for a lunch-sized portion of curry, and cup of rice, and a cup of soup. There is another good Thai restaurant a quarter of a mile away where I could have gotten soup, entree, rice, and a spring roll for $8. In future, I will be going there for lunch. It's a shame, because I admire the skills of the chef at Bangkok cuisine, but the front of the house issues ruin it for me.
Horrible service, will not ever return!. The food is mediocre, and the prices are outrageous. Most of all, the service is horrible. I will not return, because the waitstaff is slow and rude. They came across as though we were doing them a huge favor by being there. Never again. The food is not worth it.
Dining at Bangkok cuisine................
Horrible service...waited to order for a long time...water never refilled...Additional hot sauces not offered.had to request them...
Vegetables on entrees not authentic thai...
Thai Spice restaurant located in the Forum(Agora Parkway)is far superior...Excellent service...authentic thai veggiesand better prices...$3.00 to $4.00 less for entrees.
Bangkok cuisine needs to offer better waitress service and overall service in general.......

my Favorite from there menu is order number # 26 and my choice of meet is chicken.
They do give you a large amount of food.
Poor services ruins good food. Bangkok cuisine provided good alternative ethnic food selection in San Antonio, unfortunately the 2 female waitress on a Friday night made me extremely disgusted that I will no longer go. We went with my wife, our new born son and my wife's grandmother and ordered about $50 worth of food (3 plates, 1 appetizer, 1 beer, 1 tea), our plates were never cleared, our drinks were never checked to be refilled. I understand how busy they are so after we finished eating and after waiting ~ 10-15 mins for the check and doggie bag in preparation to leave, not only did the waitress did not look at our direction, they completely ignored us that there's a hungry baby that need to be breastfed, so out of courtesy for the establishment, my wife and her grandmother left to the car to feed the baby and I am left to settle the bill. I went ahead and picked up 2 boxes to pack the leftover myself from behind the counters... but after waiting 20 mins, still no acknowledgment that the need to close my bill... so I went to one waitress and asked for a plastic bag, and she said "can't you just carry it to the front (check out area), and she'll (her older partner) give you a bag" with a very demeaning look, to that I replied, "I can't, because I also have a car seat to carry" (along with 2 containers of food may spill, trying to save a potential spill clean up for her) but instead she gave me dirty look, grunted, went to the kitchen got a plastic bag and tossed it at me. I packed it, and took it to the front to settle the bill, and told the other waitress that "we come here quite frequently (like just last week) and I did not appreciate how rudely I was treated." All I expected was an apology, but instead she gave me a blank stare and said "what do you want me to do? Tell the owner?" After I signed the bill, I left and told her "a simple apology would have been sufficient." I am also sending this excerpt to the owner, because she unknowingly is loosing customers from her rude waitress.
