Poor service, good food

My husband and I were taking our friend to dinner while her husband was out of town. We arrived about 10 minutes before her, and were seated. We hadn't even had time to look at the cocktail list when our waiter asked us what we would like to drink. We replied, "Water for now," and continued to look at the drink list. After that, our waiter ditched us! We wanted to order our drinks and we couldn't catch anyone to wait on us. A waitress who was covering tables on the other side of the restaurant (and who was obviously running around like crazy already) had then added us as one of her tables. Our waiter proceed to wait on a table of six next to us that immediately ordered a bottle of wine. After that, she tried her best but the service deteriorated further. She just had too many tables and the waiter that we had originally wouldn't even look in our direction. I always leave a tip, but this is the only time I actually regretted it when I left the restaurant. I know my husband and I, along with our friend look young, but we're not! We were dressed appropriately, and we actually spent well over $100 on our meals and drinks. We were going to have dessert, but we couldn't get anyone to take our order! My meal was good, my husband's steak was OK, and our friend's sea scallops were not very special. I do not want to return. However, my husband believes every restaurant deserves a second chance, so we probably will. Not for a while though - I can always think of another place I'd rather go when he suggests scenic loop again.

Best restaurant in Texas.

This place has great food, great staff and a great atmosphere.

This is by far my favorite restaurant. Some people are concerned that it’s a little bit too far from San Antonio but I don’t mind at all…it helps keep the crowds down.

It’s a tad bit pricier than the average SA restaurant but don’t let that stop you from trying it. If you compare the price to the quality of the dinning experience then you will realize that the price you pay is an excellent deal.

Pepper Encrusted Tenderloin and the Shrimp en Brochette are awesome!

Best Restaurant in Texas

What a lovely setting, what great food! The staff was spectacular...Worth any length drive! Great family gathering place!
