Editorial Review for Rossi's Blue Star Room – by Jennifer Blaise

In Short
Decor is casually elegant, with cozy tables draped in indigo-checkered linens. Photos of musical and pop-culture icons line the walls, and everything is cast in an intoxicating blue glow. For a small, out-of-the-way place, Blue Star draws an impressive lineup of performers like Harry Connick Jr. and the Rippingtons. The menu is a scaled-down, wallet-friendly version of the Rossi's menu with stone-baked pizzas and tangy sausage and shiitake pie. Ice-cold martini make for perfect nightcaps.

The pork is the best. I've tried lots of places. Both expensive and cheap but no one comes close to Rossi's. I've decided not to try anymore places because I have been disappointed so many times. Rossi's kitchen staff knows how to cook it just perfect so that it is not overcook but thick and juicy. The serving size is the same as dinner's so go during happy hour for a great deal.

Pros: Great Food

2 Star Rating: Below Average

The atmosphere is very nice. The music is good, and it's quiet enough that you can talk to the other people at your table. The service unfortunately was not good. Our server only came twice in the two hours we were there, and we were told we would have to pay a cover charge past a certain time, so we asked for our check and she mysteriously didn't come back until long after that time, so we were charged as a large group for the cover charge. When we spoke to the manager about it, the charge was removed but he was very combative and rude. Not impressed. The food is okay, but not worth the money. There are better ways to spend your money and your even more precious time.

Pros: atmosphere, acoustics

Cons: service, cost, management
