Come On In The Water Is Fine. I am a 50+ male who is not very flexible and has had numerous surgeries so I was a bit concerned because I certainly didn't want to aggravate any old injuries. My concerns were quickly dispelled and I found the class exhausting but also invigorating. The teachers are exceptionally kind, talented and patient always reminding us (students) this is our class time. There also are a variety of classes offered from beginner to advanced throughout the day. My fellow students also seem to be a caring bunch who share a love of this great exercise. My advise to any one reading this is to "Come On In The Water Is Fine".

Changed my life. I had tried several types of yoga (including Bikram) before I ventured over to Vinyasa yoga at Yoga in Motion. I was instantly hooked...even though I accidentally went to an advanced class for my first experience. The prices are completely reasonable, especially if you buy a 'pass'. I adore Effie (owner and teacher), and can only aspire to someday have a a body like Claudia. Knowing I can go to these yoga classes at night and on weekends helps get me through the day...not to mention, my posture has improved, and I sleep much better at night. I think it's even helping my half-marathon training as well. I highly recommend you check it out - you can drop in for a single class. I promise you won't regret it.

Yoga for the Soul!. I have only recently begun taking yoga! As a first-timer, I was concerned about my place in the class. Would I fit in? Would I hold others back? Would I look ridiculous? As it turns out, the instructors are so warm and welcoming that I never once felt like I didn't belong there. Even on my first day! And the atmosphere is so conducive to yoga practice that everyone is so into their own zone that no one really notices what everyone else is doing anyway. I have never felt judged . On the contrary! Effie and her staff of instructors are so professional and knowledgeable that I have grown in my practice immensely.

The studio is easy to get to despite the construction on Lockhill-Selma Road. It is on the corner of Lockhill and West, so I just come up NW Military to West. Easy enough!

GREAT place to work on your physique, spirit, and soul!

The only yoga studio that can keep me going!. As a 50+ woman, I had my doubts when my fitness nut friend insisted I accompany her to Yoga in Motion for a trial visit. I "trialed" for several times and despite red face and sore muscles, I kept going back. Effie Wood, the owner, has an effervescent personality (it doesn't hurt that she is also an Older Woman) and always remembers your name. Her Monday evening beginner's class is the way I look forward to beginning my week. She also understands that 50 year old bodies some times have things wrong with them and always gives options for differing levels of ability when teaching new poses. Most important is learning how to breathe. Effie says that proper breathing techniques help you use your parasympathetic system which moves you into weight loss mode. I don't know about that, but I CAN tell you that since joining Yoga in Motion ( I am an official member, on my 2nd card) I have lost the pesky 8 lbs that have been plaguing me for the past 5 years!

Another thing I appreciate is that you pay by the class. If you commit to more classes, it costs less (I don't want to say how much, because my class is full enough already and I don't really want you to come to it). My new Wednesday beginner teacher, Julie, is fabulous and gorgeous. Not every one in my beginner classes is my age either, so there is always something pleasant to look at when I'm not doing a Downward Facing Dog or Warrior 2.

I may (OK will likely) always be in the beginner class, but I get a good workout, I've lost weight and I feel welcome and cared for. I've been to a lot of gyms and yoga classes and this is the best I've ever found. SO STAY AWAY!!

Excellent Yoga Studio. I've been going to Yoga In Motion for a year now. What started out as an experimentation into yoga has turned into a way of life for me. The atmosphere is welcoming, not at all intimidating, and not competitive. The instructors are knowledgable, approachable, and always helpful. Having experimented with all kinds of fitness, Yoga In Motion, has opened the doors of what I am capable of achieving. I highly recommend Yoga to anyone looking to improve their body, mind, spirit, and Yoga In Motion to anyone looking for a wonderful atmosphere to do it in.
