Do not go there!.
I went to this restaurant with my mother, sister and my two kids. It was a beautiful setting, right on the riverwalk. We waited over 30 minutes for a drink! When the food finally came it was not of a very high standard. My pasta was extremely oily and not hot enough.
The main problem was when we finally got the check. I was horrified to find that the total was $122!. As I was looking over the individual items the waiter grabbed my elderly mother's Visa card out of her hand. I then noticed a charge of $11 for a glass of wine which was not what she ordered, and an 18% gratuity! When I queried this the waiter informed me that 'was because we were on the Riverwalk'!
Awsome!!!!. Me and my Family went (party of 4) on a weekend. It was very busy outside, inside we were able to sit immediately (due to everybody wanting to sit outside). I had the Carne Asada plate it was the best I have EVER had!!!!! My wife had some pasta with sausage (it was OK). My kids had taquitos. But over all it was a very good experience.
Horrible!!. My husband and I went there for our 1st year anniversary. This place is coasting off of their location. The food and service was by far the worst I have ever received anywhere! The waiter was unattentive and never brought requested beverages or tortillas. The steak was chewy and hard to cut and the chips were so stale they would bend instead of break. We waited for 15 minutes for the waiter to bring our check. I guess we should have known better since all the other restaurants on the river walk had 30-min. waits and Paloma had mostly empty tables. Save your money! Go anywhere but here!!
Family-owned restaurant features American and Mexican cuisine served with a beautiful view of the Riverwalk..
In Short
Dine inside where Mexican decor includes richly colored walls decorated with paintings by one of the owners. For a quieter, more romantic atmosphere, enjoy a meal on the tree-shaded patio overlooking the San Antonio River. The most popular dish is New York tenderloin steak in spicy red sauce, topped with cheese and mushrooms. Another favorite: shrimp sautéed in crushed garlic and black pepper butter sauce. Groups can select from the $19.95 private-party package that includes all-you-can-eat fajitas.
