Nice atmosphere, and good food.. We have been to both the Gruene River Grill and the Gristmill several times. The food is way better at the Gruene River Grill. Very rustic atmosphere, like eating in a lodge. I love to sit by the windows with the great view of the river. Very cozy.

glad they are in gruene. it is about time a new restaurant is up and running in gruene.

Great place. This is a great place for casual or not so casual dining. I have been back several times. I particularly like the Shrimp Won Tons and the Balsamic Ribeye. The have great desserts, especially the Creme Brulee or the Bread Pudding. They have a good bar and wine list. I look forward to warmer weather since they have outside dining overlooking the Guadalupe River. They are located behind the Gruene Mansion Inn, next to the Art and Music Museum. It was a little hard to find but worth the search.
