Color me thrilled!. I have been a client of the Studio for a number of years. During that time I tried a few other salons in the area and everytime I come back to the Hair Studio. The staff has always been friendly and accomodating, and the stylists know their color. Over time I have had the pleasure of having Yvonne, Melissa and recently Lisa do my color and highlights. Everytime it has turned out exceptional. The price is upper end, but so is the quality of service and results.
worst eylash extensions EVER.
Based on their reviews ( which had to have been placed by their own staff ! ), I went to have eyelash extensions placed. I had them in the past, so I know what to expect.
They were Horrible.
First off, they started falling out within 24 hours, with my own eyelashes, leaving holes on my bottom lash line.
Secondly, they looked very fake, were heavy, and made my upper lids look droopy !
Elva, who claims that she is the best around - ha ha - stating she should have been a brain surgeon (far jump, don't you think ?) seems to have no idea of natural improvement, but seems to favor the unattractive, fake look.
I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.It took her three torturous hours to place them.
At a cost of $ 350.00, they expect a tip ;
here it is : stop doing eyelash extension and destroying people for several months, until their lashes grow back in. This was the worst cosmetic experience ever !
Lash extensions are available in several lengths and densities. Please contact the Salon Director and she will arrange for the extensions to be removed and replaced with lashes that match the look you are wishing to achieve. You had individual extensions applied to both the Upper and Lower lashes. An Upper and Lower application requires 2 /12 to 3 hours. An Upper only requires about 2 hour because you are dealing with longer lashes. Our extension specialist has been applying eyelash extensions twice daily for over 4 years. Her experience, training and quality of results are considered some of the best available in San Antonio.
The Rock Hard Best.
I have been to several hairdressers. This Hair Sonterra worked with me individually. I have left salons with green blond hair and with orange roots. Now I am Beautiful and Blonde. They spent 3 hours, but I got what I wanted. Time and Time. They gave me direction for my hair and wanted to know me.
I will be Back. Whatever their shampoo is it smells good too!
Bad Business Practice.
I would never go to this place again, not because the product wasn't good, but because when there was a major problem two days after my visit----they were unwilling to do anything to resolve the issue.
I went on Sat, April 2nd to have feather extensions put in my daughter and my hair. I was a bit concerned with the placement of the feathers in my hair, so I called and spoke with the owner. Her only solution was that she would send me some beads to move them to a different location on my head. #1....this is not my area of expertise nor what I paid $145.00 for.
It gets better...I was simply showing a co-worker the feathers on Tues....4 days after having the $145 feather put in, and the entire thing came out. I have very healthy and thick hair...it pulled my hair out. It looks as if the hair was broken off. It did not pull from the roots. This goes back to bad placement.
I called the salon back to discuss what could be done. Again, I was brushed off by---what I assume was the manager, or owner---by her telling me that she mailed some more beads out to me. ARE YOU JOKING?!
By far the most unprofessional, unethical salon I've visited in my life. I take pride in what I do and it's a shame to see that other company owners/managers don't do the same.
I have already sent numerous emails, texts, etc. to everyone I know letting them know to avoid them. Several people saw them on Sunday and asked where I had it done, I even wrote the name and number down for some of them. I assure you...they won't be going there now.
If anyone is interested, I have pictures to back up the broken hair.
Ridiculous how paying customers are treated these days.
We deeply apologize for our oversight. Our services and products are 100% guaranteed. Your location 90 miles away from the salon in Round Rock put us at a disadvantage. Feather extensions are secured on few strands of hair with very small metal bead. Sometimes the hair can break or the bead comes loose requiring reattachment. Correcting this issue is complimentary when you purchase the feathers. We prefer to correct any issues that arise at the salon immediately. We want satisfied clients. The offer of the beads and feathers was an attempt to correct the problem from a distance. Please feel free to stop by the salon when you in San Antonio next time and we will happy to correct the issue with your feather extensions to your satisfaction.
TAN-AMAZING!. Just got married, and decided to get a spray tan for my honeymoon- in late February- AND its my first time! Yikes! But luckily I went to the right place! Chelsea was stuck with me and my inexperiance of spray tanning, but thank goodness she was so sweet and understanding. The woman at the front desk greeted me as soon as i walked in. Having a smiling face and a nice greeting is rare at salons, so i sort of looked at her as if she was joking (haha) but she was genuine. All i asked chelsea was to make me turn out like i had a real tan, and not orange or burnt orange.(if you've seen Jersey Shore, you know what i mean; Snookie) I LOVE my tan(: Fake or not(: and she has my business from now on.
Superstar Stylist!. I have Naturally Curly hair. Finding a stylist that can understands my hair is difficult to find. Lisa knows how to tame my curly locks. It pains me to spend $154 for a cut and color, but I feel it is really worth the money to feel and look great. Lisa is skilled stylist with a sweet personality and I highly recommend her.
A bustling beauty spot. Studio Sonterra has a talented staff and truly caring owner. This is a "No Attitude" salon that is friendly filled with good listeners.
I am excited to report Lauren does my highlights and she is good. My hair is more than blonde and I Love It!
Not Happy. I moved from the islands and needed to blend my roots and my sun bleached hair. I asked for my root color to be woven in so it could grow in without looking bad. I go home and see that my hair is a weird maroon color. If the lighting in the styling room had been better I would have been able to see how horrible it actually looked. I recommend going elsewhere for color.

LOVE MY HAIR!!!.
I was so tired of trying to find someone here in the Rio Grande Valley to cut my hair short. The highlights were always really weird - too orange or maroon! Yuck. I had had enough and I was coming up on a birthday. So I made an appointment with Melissa for hightlights and Debbie for a cut and they were fabulous! It has been a long time since I have come out of a hair appointment feeling so excited with my new hairdo! Melissa and Debbie were so knowledgeable and they really know what they are doing! I have already received so many compliments on my hair.
By the way I already have my next appointment scheduled. It is well worth it to drive 500 miles (250 up and back) !!

Incredible Place With Amazing People!!. I came to see Debbie Jo and Melissa and I could not be happier!! I was referred there by somebody who loves them and I can now see why! Melissa is a color specialist there and was very explanatory of why what she was recommending would be the best for my hair. It is exactly what i wanted and I feel beautiful!! (She referred me to Debbie Jo, a cutting specialist there, because they work together a lot and she does razoring!) My cut is ADORABLE and it could not have been better!! I can completely appreciate when a stylist can stick with what theyre great at to make the perfect result!! I have found a new home and will certainly be back!! Thanks Debbie Jo and Melissa!! You two make a great team!!
