I had lasik surgery at the Lasik Plus on Research Blvd in Austin. It has been one of the biggest mistakes of my life. My vision is now blurry, I see double vision, can't drive at night, and I have severe dry eye. I feel handicapped. In addition, you cannot reach their offices directly and always have to go through a call center. They always have long waits, and once your surgery goes bad, they don't even have the decency to follow-up with you to see how it's going. I suggest, that if you are going to have the surgery, do your homework, and then choose an office that is not part of a large corporation or assembly line. Also, don't let a lifetime guarantee fool you. Once you've experienced a "bad" surgery, you won't want to go back - trust me. Don't make the same mistake I did. Find out about all of the complications from Lasik surgery before getting it done. My father and several friends had the surgery with no problem, but I think the incidence of post-lasik surgery problems are a lot greater than what they tell you. You can go on the internet and find hundreds of people that have had bad surgeries. The FDA is also looking into it now due to the complaints.
Pros: None
Cons: Assembly line mentality

I didn't actually go through with getting lasik at LasikPlus. I did not trust the place for a few reasons. First, when you call, you don't get their office directly. I was talking to a call center of some sort, and I have no idea where they were. I became concerned that if I had an issue with my surgery, I would have a difficult time reaching anyone there at the office directly. Second, I was told to not wear glasses for 3 of days prior to my free consultation. Most places will have you do this after the first consultation, and come in for a second, more thorough exam one it is established that you are a good candidate. LasikPlus moves faster for a reason--they want you to be impulsive and get it all done in the same day! The form they have you fill out when you get there asks, "If you are a candidate for lasik, would you like to have it done today?" What?! With no planning ahead, they want to laser your eyes---WATCH OUT! Third, they overbook appointments. My appointment was for 9, but there were 2 other people there at the same time. It seems they are only set up for 2 people to get the exam at once. So, the way they book appointments pretty much guarantees that someone will be sitting there waiting for no reason. There were also people who I guess had short follow-up exams (I think) who came and went as I sat there waiting. I got tired of waiting, and ended up leaving. I let the office people know I was leaving, and why, and that I did not plan on coming back. I got a call from the call center a few days later to reschedule my appointment. That further proved to me that there was a disconnect between the office and the call center...
