Disappointing.. I'll be the first to admit I'm a little picky about sushi. I just moved to San Antonio and have only tried one other place (Zushi sushi). That said, I read all the great reviews about Samurai and decided to check it out. The place was pretty dingy and run down so ambiance was pretty bad. I figured I've eaten great sushi in some dive places so I'd give it a shot. The food was mediocre at best. My wife got the tempura appetizer and the breading was caked on and dry, not very light or crispy as it should be. We ordered the dynamite appetizer which was really a mound of tuna stir fried with mushrooms topped with mayo. Then I tried to the sushi. They had a decent selection of rolls. Unfortunately the food was just so-so. The rice was not dried out but the amount of fish they put in the rolls seemed rather small. Overall, I was disappointed.
A must see!. Their sushi was fresh and tasted great. Portions were reasonable amounts also offer lunch specials for a good price. All staff were welcoming and polite. The atmosphere was calming, everything includ. restrooms were clean. DEFINITLY coming back!!!
BEST SUSHI IN TOWN!!. I have eaten at many sushi restaurants & this is the best place, great creations in rolls. The chef shows off his product (fish) by showing how fresh it is, now that is rare trait to see in a chef. Very nice staff and they have a happy hour on sushi, I believe it starts at 5p, not sure how long it lasts. They also have GREAT PRICES
Good sushi.. The sushi is very good and unique and they present it well. Although the outside of the resturant is a little shabby the food is worth going inside. But if you want to order out prepare for a 45 minute wait.
Great service, Great atmosphere. This place is so hidden, the outside looks unattractive but OMG you must give this restaurant a chance. I went in with a good friend of mine for lunch and we ate the Soba and a few rolls of sushi. The sushi was absolutely fresh and tasty and the soba was plentiful and delicious. Please visit this cute little restaurant, it is not packed full of people, and the service is wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone wishing to eat sushi, I would go there again, yum!
