Took advantage on price; owner made it right 3 months later.
Originally charged $446 total (service fee, part, labor) to replace a $35.00 (approx) hot service ignitor on a residential gas furnace, which took tech approx 15 minutes to diagnose & replace. After much research couldn't find any local (or Austin or Houston) HVAC company who would quote higher than $284 for exact work/part with the average quote between $195 and $225. Rosenberg agreed to only refund $154 bringing total to $292...lets see, that makes their hourly labor rate about $1,028/hr? Still moderately dissatisfied with outcome and what a hassle! Do your homework - this company seems to be just fine being the highest priced HVAC company not only in SA, but in Texas.
4/1/2010 UPDATE. 3 Months after experience above I received a call from the president of Rosenberg apologizing for the pricing error. End result, received a very nice letter, an additional refund of $115 (bringing total for service to $177) and a complimentary one year service agreement for one of the two units in my home. I found the president to have an obvious commitment to customer service. It it weren't for the pricing hassle, I would gladly give Rosenberg a 5 star rating; absolutely no complaints on the quality of the service work performed.
