Don't Go... Learn from my mistake..
It was my birthday and I decided to be a tourist in my own city. I went downtown and spent the better part of the day on the River Walk. I took the boat tour, ate lunch at the Rainforest Cafe and
finished my day at the Alamo.
Everything was great except my experience at the Rainforest Cafe. Upon my arrival, the hostess tried to sit me right upfront where everyone was coming in and going out. I told her I did not want to sit there and then she brought me to the very back where the wait staff was going in and out of the kitchen. She told me she had no other areas open yet I could see that customers were dispersed throughout the restaurant.
I ordered a chicken and veggie plate. It took over 30 minutes for my food come out. In that time, my waitress did not check on me once. When my food did arrive, the waitress put it down and walked away. She never asked if I wanted a refill on my now empty drink. I proceeded to eat the chicken and it was cold, very cold.
I waited for the waitress to walk back by to catch her attention. I told her that my chicken was very cold and she took the plate away. A few minutes passed and who I can only assume was a manager came over and apologized. She proceeded to ask me if I wanted a bowl of soup while I waited for the kitchen to prepare a new dish. I said that I would just like a refill on my soda.
About 10 minutes went by and my new plate arrived at the table. the veggies and mashed potatoes were great. They really were seasoned just right. However, the chicken was disgusting. I took a couple of bites and ended up spitting the food out on the plate. It was rotten and very tough. It ended up taking about 45 to 50 minutes before my food arrived and what I did eat (the eatable portion) took about 3 minutes to finish off.
At this point, I pushed the plate forward and waited until I could get the attention of the waitress again. She asked me if my new plate was better. I smiled and said, "I'm ready to pay."
Overall, my experience at the Rainforest Cafe was terrible. I felt as tough I had been treated like an unwanted inconvenience by the hostess, the waitress was incompetent or just didn't care about me as a customer and the main part of my meal was cold the first time around and rotten and tough the second time. If I could give a 0 star rating, I would!…
Overpriced and They try to Jack up the Food Bill.
30 minute wait to get seated.
Lots of tables not being used so didn't know why there was even a wait.
Ordered the burger. Asked "Do you want fries with that?"
Sure right? It comes with it right?
No - fries are $1.25 more but the server doesn't tell you that.
It comes with chips as a part of the price.
Server is trying to jack up the food bill not assist you in making a selection and being upfront. This is substandard.
The food was overpriced. The wait was too long.
Felt like being nickled and dimed at every corner of the restaurant.…
Kids LOVE going here. Expensive though. Great dining experience with kids. Many neat photo ops with all the animated animals. Super pricey for what you get. But fun time had by all
GOO TO THE RAIN FOREST IN SAN ANTONIO GREAT TIME. Well we called made reservations. We had grandmother with us she could not walk down a lot of stairs, the staff was so helpfull opened up the street door so we could go in that door. I am telling you the whole lunch was very nice the food was great, I can not complain about the price no higher thatn anywhere else. The young lady that waited on us was very helpfull her name was Jenny. Thank you so much had a wonderful time. So my advise is to call ahead of time let them know you will be there.…
TOO expensive. The food is not very good especially for the price. There are so many kids in there you can barely hear yourself think. The wait is always way too long and you most likely have to sit outside on the riverwalk or stand and it is usually super hot and uncomfortable during the summer.…
