I went for a consult for corrective color. I had to wait over a month, not a problem this just means it is a popular place. I showed up and the receptionist told me to change and Chris would talk to me, I sat there and no one said anything to me. I didnt even get acknowledged by the stylist until 10 minutes after my appointment time. Then during the consult, Chris started talking about my haircut which is not what I was there for. Set up an appointment for color but not sure if Im going to go back, seems way over priced.
Wonderful hair cut. I have searched for a good stylist since mine moved several years ago. After trying three different stylists in three different salons and giving each many months to adjust to my hair and my desires, I was about to give up. I followed a woman in a gym who seemed to have hair with the same texture as mine, and I asked who cuts her hair. She sent me to John. Yes, he is more expensive--about $20 more than I have customarily paid, but, oh, is it worth it! From the first appointment, he demonstrated his professionalism. He felt my hair dry and studied it carefully, almost weighing it in his hands and fluffing it around to get a feel for the movement patterns, etc. He asked what I wanted, discussed what I didn't like and offered suggestions. Then he cut it carefully, and it was great from day one. I am so relieved to again be happy with my hair!!! John will talk if you want to talk, but be silent if you don't. I find that professional, not stand-offish. He's not going to chatter endlessly, tell you personal facts about himself, nor act like a therapist. He's there to treat your hair, not be your best friend, and he does a great job!
Worst Salon Experience!.
I have had my hair colored and treated for over 15 years now, and never have I been treated with as much disrespect as the stylists and staff at Trevi.
The stylist I used, John, had absolutely no concern for what I wanted, he was rude, inconsiderate, and over charged me for the service and quality of work he did. I tried to explain to him my hair, the color I wanted, cut style, etc. He began mixing color before I was finished and now my blonde highlights are Orange! Needless to say, I will never go back. Ladies, please do not waste your time or money here!
Did not do what I asked.. When going into trevi I had an appointment for highlights with john. He did not do what I asked but rather what he thought was best. I was unhappy with the finished results. He did not return my calls when I wanted to get the color fixed. I had to go somewhere else and he still will not return my calls. He was completely unprofessional! I will never go back.
I never willbe back.
I am so happy that my hair is not my teeth, or legs - because at least it will grow back again.
And I am so happy that I can save so much money on my hair cuts now, because I will not need another one for three or four ( or may be even five!)months. My hair is too short to be able to have another haircut!
If you would like to get a haircut that you do not want - go to Trevi Hair studio.
You even can bring to them a picture of a Haircut that you would like to have, you can even bring to them a detailed step-to-step instruction on how to cut the haircut that you want. It's doesn't matter, they are so COOL, they know how to do this, they will not read your "stupid" instructions!
But when they are done with your haircut ? you will find that you have been ?taken! For cost of two haircuts at other salons.
It is not want you want, not what you asked for, not the right shape, and wrong length!
The stylist?s name is Chris.
I have been going to Trevi Hair Salon ever since it opened. I actually went to Edwin, one of the stylist, at his previous location and then followed him to their new salon. Edwin has done my hair for over ten years, and I will never switch!
There are just three stylist in this small, but trendy, salon located in Alamo Heights. I love the personal attention you get when you go in there. Everyone knows you by name and could not be more friendly!
Edwin does BEAUTIFUL highlights! I get asked all the time where I go because the highlights are so natural looking.
I have also had experience with John before and could not disagree more with the previous review about him. John has done an updo on me several times for formal events. I am VERY hard to please with updos and every time John has always been very open to my feedback. I have never left his chair dissatisfied!
I highly recommend any of the three stylist that work at Trevi.
Wonderful and Caring Stylists!!!. I am a long time resident of Alamo Heights and have been a client of John Knowles for over 15 years... I have referred many of my friends and they are ALL still happy, satisfied clients. John is an attentive and talented stylist and when I came accross the other review on this site I was shocked and disappointed to know that someone would publicly attack a person whose 20 years of experience has made him one of the top stylist in San Antonio, maybe she was having a bad day? That being said I would highly recommend Trevi Hair Studio to anyone that is looking for a warm and personal experience.
Not Recommended. I went to Trevi on a referral and was very excited to have John (the owner) cut my hair but it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. He is completely detached from his clients. In addition, I requested a cut and style and he barely styled my hair. I felt as though he was not even present. At the end when I commented about my dissatisfaction he really did not care to make it better. There was time to make the situation a positive one and he absolutely was not interested. I was still in his chair trying to talk to him (while smiling) and he acted as though he could care less if I walked out a satisfied customer or not. Situations like these remind me that anyone can "cut" hair but not everyone who does is a true artist. The whole cut took less than 20 minutes and I have a lot of hair - for me this is unacceptable for a $60 cut and style topped with an emotionless disengaged stylist. I will never return to Trevi and do not recommend the salon. The owner needs to remember why he is in this business in the first place. He seems to care more about how perfect he looks versus making his clients feel good about their experience in his chair.
