A Must To Go.
I live in Colorado and everytime I visit San Antonio, I make it a neccessity to eat at Sawasdee. Most restaurants say their food is authentic, and some may be, but Sawasdee is 100% authentic. The servers are Thai, and the cooks are Thai as well.
The noodle dishes are fantastic. With each visit, try a new dish, and try one of the desserts. They have yet to fail me.
FREQUENT OUT OF TOWN VISTOR. I live in Houston but for work, I often travel to San Antonio. Everytime i'm there, I always make sure to put Sawasdee on my itinerary. THIS PLACE IS DELICIOUS. It's amazing how authentic the food is. My favorite dish would have to be the Green Curry Fried Rice. It's so original and tastes great. My recomendation goes out to you!
My Favorite Thai Restaurant!. I am a frequent traveller toThailand. Sawasdee is very authentic Thai food. It has a huge menu with plentiful choices for both meat lovers and vegetarians.. Full flavored and wonderful presentation. I personally would start with a medium spice level and work your way up from there. Sawasdee's Lunch Specials are one of the best deals in town; a complete meal including iced tea.
Good Thai Food. We have dinner here several times a month. The Satay pork and Summer Rolls are excellent appetizers. The food is always good during dinner. I've only gone once during lunch and it just didnt seem as fresh. There are two waitresses that are EXCELLENT and then there's the bad waitress who does not speak English. Oh well - we usually make her go get one of the others to explain to her what we want. We're regulars so the other two know us. And perhaps you just need to become a regular to really get what you want. If you get to know the waitstaff and they get to know you, it makes for an excellent cooked to order meal.
Found Metal In Food. Found a thin metal wire about 2 inches long in my noodles too bad I found it in my mouth. It was very thin and in between the noodles. They did not charge me for the Pad Thai but I did pay for the spring rolls. I am just fortunate that I did not swallow the wire. Sawasdee lacks the quality control in their kitchen.
The best Thai food in San Antonio. This restaurant is by far the best Thai restaurant in Sa Antonio. It could easily compete in San Francisco or Los Angeles or any other major metropolis with great Southeast Asian food
Great food right down the street. We just moved next to this place and it's one of my favorite Thai restaurants. I have to get the summer rolls every time. The Thai basil with the cold shrimp is so crisp and matches perfectly with the warm peanut sauce. The portions are large and curries are excellent. Service is great. If anything, it's a little too quiet inside for me and the food is just as good to-go.
Great Thai. Sawasdee is a great find! For those of you that love thai food and friendly service, this is the place. The service is great and the price is fantastic. If you like Pad Thai or any noodle dish, you'll love Sawasdee.
Sawadee Thai Cuisine. Sawasdee is pure bliss and a refreshing dinning experience in a city that is already known for spicy food from south of the border. The food is always fresh and cooked just right. The soups are incredible not only to the taste but the presentation as well since they are served in clay pots with an active flame underneath. The panang beef is the best, the prawn curry is served in a carved out pineaple! Even the iced tea tastes great when paired with the spicy food. Remember this is a neigborhood resturant with REAL family members serving you with a smile....may not always be as polished as a chain but then thats why we come here.....expectations are everything.... enjoy!!
Started out great. I found Sawasdee about a year ago and I thought the place was great. The place is clean, quiet, and the food was delicious. But lately the restaurant is falling short. The service is okay, but there are times that you and your server many not understand eachother, so ordering can be difficult. The pad thai was too liquidy and not spicy enough as we order. The pang nang beef curry was tough and no rice came with the meal. If you want rice to eat with your curry/meal that's extra. So wrong. You have to ask them to bring you your condiments and to refill your tea. It will be awhile before I come back here again. Just be prepare that rice is extra, per bowl and you have to remind the server to serve you tea or water.
