terribly disappointed. After seeing this restarant on the Food Network, my friends and I drove all the way from Austin to try it. The food was cold and very bland. The beans must have been from the can because they were awful. I'm hispanic and when I go to a restaurant that advertises great tex-mex food, that's what I expect. Maybe La Hacienda is fooling others about Tex-Mex food, but you can't fool us. They also had very young waiters who wouldn't refill our tea glasses even though we kept asking them to. Sorry Bobby, you really missed the boat on this restaurant. The only thing good was the atmosphere. I don't recommend it to any one.
Management is horrible. I went last friday night and the girl manager was horrible been there a few times before and had trouble with her the past times I went. I called and complained but that didn't seem to matter. But last friday I had a problem with my server and metioned it to the managers and they did not care. I Will not go back ever again and i will make sure to pass this on to everyone i know!!
disappointment. We drove from Houston and once in SA remembered the Bobby Flay throwdown. We just had to try the tacos. I had the fajitas, my husband had the cabrito, my sister had green enchiladas and bro in law had tacos de carne quisada. My fajitas were not from the grill. Cabrito was dry and not simmered with salsa. Green enchiladas were too bland, green sauce very runny. Puffy tacos were not great, very little ground beef. We were disappointed, especially with the high prices. The waiter was very nice.
Overpriced and below average. This restaurant is extremely overpriced and the food is bland and below average. They charge for every extra item, including 4 dollars for a side of guacamole. Service is also very average. There are much better Mexican restaurants in San Antonio, don't waste your time on this one.
Very nice atmosphere. Had dinner here last week and the food was good but there are better mexican restaurants in SA. The margritas were very good. The overall place is very appealing.
Great puffy tacos!!!. Yes, the food is good...the puffy tacos were worth the trip. But the service was overwhelmed, margaritas were pricy, and the food was slow to come out. Don't be intimidated by the crowded parking lot, if you'll take a table indoors, you can be seated pretty fast. great chips and salsa!
What a great place!! Fantastic Atmosphere and the food's great too!.
We live out 1604 and Potranco, so this is by no means nearby, but it was well worth the drive (even in traffic). I was pretty surprised to find it so crowded on a Wednesday evening; we had to wait 20 minutes for outdoor seating, but I'm so glad we did. The patio is huge and well shaded by really beautiful tall trees. The tables were well spaced, so we didn't feel like we were on top of the people near us. There was a guy playing guitar and singing popular favorites by the likes of Jimmy Buffet and Neil Diamond- he was great. The volume level was also excellent. Loud enough that we could hear him, but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other.
The chips are thicker than I like, but the salsa was really spicylicious! We got the puffy tacos because, well, we went here because my friend saw the Bobby Flay Puffy Taco Throwdown on the Food Network and wanted to check it out. They were delicious, as expected, so that was great. The tea wasn't great, I had to switch to water, but no biggie. Overall, LOVE THIS PLACE. We'll be back as soon as my husband returns from TDY. Very pleasant experience!
Such a great place to take company!. I love La Hacienda! There food is always great, but more than that they have created a charming environment to enjoy it in!
