Awful, dirty place..
Similar to what other reviewers are saying, the waitstaff is unprofessional at best, the facility itself is stuffy and humid (the clientele leaves a little to be desired too, but that's not necessarily the fault of the restaurant), but most importantly, the restaurant is FILTHY. It was so bad, we did not even order any food. I have difficulty imagining that any place that fails to keep the floors from at least being sticky, must take equally as much time cleaning the dishes and flatware.
I would definitely recommend that you steer clear of this place.
Never, Never, Never Again!.
My wife and I just got back from Tiagos at The Rim (San Antonio, TX), complete disaster!
Have you ever seen that movie Waiting? Well, Tiagos is right on target with that movie!
When one goes to a restaurant and orders the steak dinner, one expects the best. Instead, Tiagos gave us their worst! Plain dry slabs of meat with absolutely no flavor, not even so much as a hint of salt on these things. Our dishes where supposed to come accompanied by some magical mashpotatoes, but instead we where given rice. Better yet, raw and crunchy rice. Last but not least, the vegtables. If you guessed raw and crunchy vegtables (Zucchini), you win!
Do yourselves a favor and just stick with TACO BELL.
Excellent chicken fajitas and good service. The fajitas are some of the best I have ever tasted, and I am from a border town (El Paso), so I know Mexican cusine. They have a smokey flavor that is just right. The service was quick and they were very professional. I would suggest a try. Pricey though, but worth it.
Great Food. I've been to both places in SA. (The RIM and 151) The food and service has always been great. Sometimes they get a little crowded.
Tiagos, don't go, made me SICK.. went to tiagos friday may 29th for dinner. i love fish tacos, decided to try them here...horrible mistake. about 7 hours after eating, i had horrible abdominal pains.....lasted through saturday, went to the ER sat. night and had a cat scan (they thought my appendix was blowing up) turns out i had a virus in my intestine caused by digesting fecal matter.....yes how sick is that. someone at tiagos isn't too fond of washing their hands after dropping a poo. so save yourself the trip, go to rosarios downtown and order the amazing fish tacos on their menu - cheaper, better service, and won't make you sick. the fish tacos at tiagos were done all wrong anyway, NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ON FLOUR TORTILLAS.....we will never eat at tiagos again.
Tiago's at the Rim - A first time and last time experience.
We dined at The Rim location for my wife's birthday on 6/13/2008. Upon entering the building, I immediately noticed very dirty floors in the seating area. It was so bad, it appeared that the floor hadn't been swept all day. There were five employees standing in the front chit chatting. There was confusion about being seated and they didn't know where to put us though there were plenty of open tables including the outdoor patio which they did not offer.
When they finally sat us we were at an inside booth near a unique glass bottle chandelier. It was rather stuffy and warm inside and could not feel the A/C if it was on. Upon being seated it took them 10 minutes to bring out our water which I noted from the clock on the TVs above the bar. Our appetizer plates were brought out with significant amounts food stuck to them on the top of the plate (not the underside). They brought us clean ones with chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and the green salsa was better than store bought. It had a little bit of a kick to it but not overpowering for those of us that like mild salsas.
For our meal we ordered the Salmon on a cedar plank and the steak and shrimp fajitas with a bottle of domestic beer. The Salmon was only cooked on the exterior but completely raw on the interior and the rice came out cold. The steak and shrimp fajitas had good flavor and you could taste the marinate, but it was not as good as Mamacitas. They did not bring the beer with the order and infact completely forgot.
I had the salmon returned and spoke with the manager letting him know our dining experience was unacceptable. The manager apologized and comp'd the salmon meal and offfered us a free chocolate cake. The waitress was cordial and noticiably felt for our poor experience, she also apologized but explained that it was a busy night. The explanation made me think of the employees when we entered.
We do not recommend eating at Tiagos and will not eat there again.
Great Place!. Tiagos has some of the best food I have tasted. The flavors are second to none. If you like a little kick in your food try the Red Serrano Roasted Chicken. It is amazing!!!!
YUM!. I love this restaurant! The staffs were nice. The food was unforgettably good! I had the cilantro-lime chicken, i have to say by far that's the best grilled chicken dish i've ever had! everything was reasonably priced and the food comes in a good portion. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone! you won't regret it!
Great fish tacos!. Yum! My husband and I have eaten here several times and have yet to have a bad meal. This has also become a favorite lunch spot with girlfriends. The fish tacos (with mango salsa on them) are excellent and so is the cilantro chicken. Fish tacos are not something I would normally recommend- but they are worth trying and you can't beat the price! Everything on the menu is reasonably priced- a great meal for under $10 and up to about $15.
Editorial Review. Serves up grilled favorites with a distinctive Southwestern-Mexican flavor.
