Hostess at the front door was friendly and engaged. My waitress' name tag said "Trainer" so I think I may have received the best they have to offer. Service was good. Great atmosphere. Inviting and appealing to the eye. Sit outside in the pleasant patio (at night) and you can see the fireworks at Fiesta Texas across the highway. The place is something like Cheesecake Factory or Kona Grill. The menu is well conceived but the meals I've had have not been great. Tonight, my mother and I had the Tuscan Chicken (you see, putting the word "Tuscan" makes it sound good, they use buzz words like this for many of their selections). Anyway, the chicken was good, but I didn't like the sauce which is the whole point. It was kind of like having french fries and using tomato sauce instead of ketchup. My meal came with a side of mashed potatoes that tasted like regular mashed potatoes and certainly nothing chef-inspired. I asked the waitress if I could substitute the mashed potatoes with something else and she offered jasmine rice, and when I asked her if the rice was good she told me to tell me the truth that the rice was just basically white rice with no flavor. You see, the whole point is that it's called "Jasmine" rice. That's what I'm getting at. The food doesn't live up to the hype. One good thing for bread lovers (like me): they provide you with very fresh (complimentary, and hot) baguettes and carrot cake in a basket before the meal. They will gladly give you refills on the bread, which is good, especially when the butter just melts on contact. Overall, I would say this place is a solid B- but there are many choices on the menu so it might be that I haven't found what works for me yet. The New Orleans-inspired atmosphere attracts me. Seems to be popular with families. My meal for two came to about $34, with tea, and not including tip.

Pros: Great Bread, Nice Atmosphere, Ambitious Menu

Cons: Sauces and Gravys Need Work
