Wouldn't Do It Again. My husband and I were heading to the rodeo today in San Antonio and decided to try out this restaurant. Looking at the outside, it appeared as if it would be something we'd like. We went in and placed our order. The sweet tea tasted very good. There were a few TVs on showing NASCAR.

Our order came out very quickly. That's when our opinion started to go down. I had ordered the chicken friend chicken and mashed potatoes along with the salad. It looked like the mashed potatoes were old and literally flat and mashed to the plate. They were cold as well. The chicken friend chicken had a very strange taste, almost like it was soaked in vinegar. The poppers that we ordered as an appetizer came with the meal and were cold as well. They peppers in them tasted like the smell of a craft store. The dressing and salad were lack luster. My husband's meal was much of the same. Neither of us finished our food and our bellys ached hours later. There was a bunch of kids running the establishment. For so many people behind the counter, tables were dirty and had crumbs on them. Overall we were horribly not impressed and would never do it again.

Great food, laid-back atmosphere.. I've been to the Longhorn Cafe a few times. The burgers cost a little more than most burgers, but they are so worth it. They have a good variety of burgers as well as other foods. They have plenty of seating for eating in or waiting while your food is being prepared. Everything is cooked to order, but the wait time is reasonable even when it's busy. We take out of town guests to the Longhorn for lunch, or we just go there on those days we just want a great burger.
