Smart stylist and great with color.

I just recently moved here from out of state and had to leave my hairstylist of 15 years. Coming to a new town is always hard and I wanted a new look to make the change complete. I made the overwhelming mistake of going to the Ingram mall to have my color done and it was an absolute disaster. I was orange at the roots and almost black throughout the rest. I didn't even bother to let them cut it. I came back the next day and was told that I could have it redone but that it may be a while before I could get in. I thought seriously of just wearing a paper bag.
Later that day an acquaintance told me of Salon Io and that they could probably help me. I was doubtful but decided that they couldn't do any worse. When I went in I was enthusiastically greeted by Kyle, who told me that it wouldn't be a problem at all to fix my hair. I thought he was just being positive and a bit boastful. But when he was through it was absolutely beautiful. I had a gorgeous chocolate brown with carmel highlights, and it felt so soft. He was cute and sweet and treated me like a queen. I think he's a real keeper, very knowledgeable as well.
- Pros: This salon has knowledge and experiance

The only reason I go to this boreing salon is because Sierra has been my hairdresser for nine years. You never feel welcomed and staff in unfreindly. if you want a good hair cut, Sierra is the one to see. Forget about the atmosphere.
- Pros: Sierra Rules
- Cons: stuck up staff
Great stylist/// unprofessional salon

This is the first time I have ever posted a review and i am not much of a writer so sorry.... I love my hair stylist at salon io, but I have to say I really don't like the salon. I have been getting my hair done with Sierra for over 2 years and she has always made me happy. My hair looks great, she always keep our appt. time (unlike most other stylist I have observed over the years), she knows what she is doing and has a really great personality.
My problems with the salon are that when I call to set up an appt. some times I have to leave a message, and it could be 2 days before someone gets back to me and I can tell that who ever I am talking to does not want to be helping me. For a while they had a really nice girl making the appt. but ever since she left it has been hard getting someone on the phone to work with me, without giving me attitude. Its strange how the owner never greats clients or anything. They stay on one side of the salon and the rest of the staff and there clients on the other. It is not a warm friendly or fun place. My most resent appt. was what really bugged me. I had called and made an appt. over the phone 3 weeks prior , I talked to the only guy in the salon...I wrote the appt. on my calendar . I made arrangements to get off work a little early, have someone else pick my kids up,when I got to the salon I was told I didn't have an appt. and that Sierra didn't work that day. I was so mad that I just left. I called sierra a few days later and told her what happened. She apologized and said it happened way to often since they don't have a receptionist. She made arrangements to stay late that Saturday to get me in. I think this is so unprofessional for a salon, I mean hello, most your business is appt. get it together. As much as I love my stylist, I may start looking for a new salon :(
- Pros: The stylist know how to do hair! Sierra Is really good and professional.
- Cons: unprofessional salon, no reseptionist. Don't konw how to book appointments.
